I would often go into the DL Trip Planning boards to see if there were any questions that I could help answer. After all, I worked there! I had my hands on resources that some who are not as saavy as others may possibly have not been able to get their hands on.

I found that most of my tips and information were thrown back in my face and labeled as wrong...not by the enquierer, but by LP regulars. Even though I worked in various restaurants throughout the resort and knew all the menus and procedures by heart, I was told that I knew nothing. My examples of services offered to folk with special dietary needs were labeled as incorrect (even though I knew fully that they were indeed correct) and my opinions were shunned because someone had a different experience than I had.

I don't want to come on LP to try to help someone and end up in an arguement. I don't want you to tell me I'm wrong because when you worked attractions 20 years ago, your friend worked in foods and told you things were different. If I learned ANYTHING about DLR while working there it is that the parks are constantly changing, at least when it comes to food service. Different procedures are always being tested and utilized based on their success. I still have many friends at the resort and they've told me how much everything has changed in the months since I've worked there, so I can only imagine things have changed drastically in the last 20 years.

Obviously, I don't work there anymore so I won't make assumptions of how things are currently being handled. I will only offer what I know to still be fact and my opinions.

It is your choice to visit Disney Parks, it is your choice to watch Disney movies, it is your choice to purchase Disney merchandise. If you don't like the product anymore, stop buying it. Don't ruin the fun for someone who enjoys it just because you don't.

I can't stand mustard, but I'm not going to call you stupid or a lemming just because you prefer the spread on your sandwich.

I really don't mean this all to sound snippy or rude, so I'm sorry if it does. But it's really frustrating to be berated for your opinions in a forum where it's supposed to be understood that everyone will have their own opinions. I'm glad that everyone enjoys different things, just don't be rude about it.

Using the mustard story...that isn't the way it would be handled though. First, it would be headlined with "A further decline in Disney food service" and then a picture would be painted that, if you like the new one you would very possibly be brain dead or your children will be born with three heads, and damn that Disney management...their ruining everything.

Where a simple...I didn't care for the new mustard they are using, I wish they would change it, would have told the entire story without making it personal.

Dave, in spite of not always agreeing with your evaluations of how things are, I do respect your stand to not support what you see as wrong, with your wallet.

No foul there, it's just that at times I get the feeling the message is that those of us that don't agree with that outlook (not just yours) are just pawns in a huge Disney conspiracy. Actually pawns is not the actual word...fools is closer to what is being projected.

It is what it is nowadays I guess, so bring on the 3 headed babies! :)

It's been a fun place and I will continue to lurk and post. I know there are trolls and negative people out there, but I have learned to ignore. As others stated, I am just careful where I tread and continue to enjoy my blissful Disney attitude. I guess I am a real "Pollyana"

Other times we are hit in the face with "life" and our priorities change. Frankly, you are not anywhere near close to the worst offenders and you have decided to put your money where your "keyboard" is. I can certainly respect that.

But I have come to the conclusion it is a very unlikely outcome sadly, and the thought of a rubberhead now elicit a gag response from me.

True ,like many right now, real life is no picnic as I battle demons at home and work. Once upon a time I sought solace in the house of mouse, not the opposite is true.

The friendships and other discussions used to keep me here, but after the dramatic departure of a dear friend, I am not sure of that anymore.

After 11 years on lp, I don't know if there are many laughs to be found any longer....but I hope.

Part of that is a change in the content of the posts. Positive or negative, they used to concentrate on the parks which is what I'm interested in. Now so much seems to be involved with the inner workings of the Disney Company. That just is not of interest to many people and is something most of us have absolutely no knowledge of. Intentionally or not, a typical LP'er is forced into the role of an outsider.

I think the moderators could help rectify this problem by moving some of the threads. Why should WDW General be clogged with posts about Social Media and other Disney Company related posts when there is a Disney Business section? I know the response by some posters will be that there is more traffic in WDW General and that is why they post there. So the rest of us have it crammed down our throats so the poster gets the ego gratification of a larger audience. If those threads were in Disney Business those LOOKING for that type of information could find it. If the area doesn't get much traffic maybe that is an indication that most of us just aren't interested in that stuff. Leave WDW General for strictly park and resort information. It might even be worthwhile to create a WDW Criticism section. If you want to blast WDW about burned out light bulbs and dirty restrooms go there and have at it without dampening the excitement of someone planning a WDW vacation. It's not that I want censorship; I'd just like to see things in an appropriate place.

I hate to see that two of my favorite LP'ers. Mr X and vbdad, have been driven away in recent months. Yes I know, in the end it was their choice to leave. I realize that. But I can also see why they became increasingly uncomfortable with LP. It has made me downright cranky and for that I SINCERELY APOLOGIZE. I don't want to be part of the problem here; I'd like to be part of the solution.
