With plenty of conversion going on from film to digital projectors .... (and depending on if the Magic Eye Theater is intended to stay for many years to come) ... a dual set of "3D" Digital projectors are more cost effective, by simply loading in a disc probably not too different than you popping CDs and DVD's into your computer CD/DVD-ROM drive.

You have no idea (nor do I) what it takes to adjust show programming like this. I've done enough of it on a smaller scale to say that it can be incredibly complicated. And you don't have "floor programmers" - you have show programmers who have access to the code that will trigger different effects. And they did program the floor to work with this show, from what I understand. And you just can't go out and buy a couple of fog machines, set 'em in the corner of the stage, and expect that effect to work. The original foggers were very high output, much more so than is normally used. It's even possible that they just don't exist any more - I'm just guessing.

And the hits on Another Part Of Me - definitely laser hits. And with no laser - no hits.

I didn't expect them to totally duplicate all of the show elements that were there in the 80's. It's enough for me to see the show in a great theater, with 3D glasses on, and a concert-capable sound system to play that incredible score. I've said it before - can't wait!!!

Well, they do still exist and are in use now in ITTBAB both in DCA and DAK. The center spray can fog effect during Hoppers attack is actually a higher output than what was shot out during the space ship crash in EO. I totally understand not being able to fabricate the star field, but all the other effects could most definitely have been and should have been replaced for this half @$$ed "tribute".
