Although I'm wondering if cold gazpacho or cold strawberry soup might taste better in this heat ;-)

But it feels really nice to get the support. Therapeutic, even!) Today was Day Two, which is usually the worst for me, and it was pretty miserable. I was completely useless for hours after getting up. I read the responses in this thread, but didn't feel I could concentrate enough to write a coherent reply. Finally I dragged myself into a long steamy shower, which helped me get up the energy to rummage through the kitchen cupboards and -- YES! -- find a can of Campbell's Chicken Noodle Soup. [BTW, does anyone else here add less than a full can of water to the soup -- and then experience a little nagging guilt over it? I do the same with frozen orange juice concentrate. LOL! What a maroon!] The soup was a great idea. I don't think I would even have thought to look for it except for the suggestions here. Also based on input here, I decided to spring for some Airborne or Zicam -- but I couldn't get motivated enough to get to CVS before going into work. I'll pick some up tomorrow. I appreciate even the suggestions I probably won't use. I have a deep aversion to Vicks VapoRub (love the smell, can't stand the consistency). I don't like taking drugs that affect my consciousness, even a little. (Yet another neurosis.) I don't see myself wearing an onion necklace anytime soon. (But thank you very much, Mrs. X!) And, I'm afraid I'm going to have to substitute a soak in my tub for that dunk in the sea. I'll be trying some of the other suggestions, though. Curling up on the couch -- check. Watching Disney movies -- check. Watching Olympics -- ummmm, well, I guess there is finally someone other than Michael Phelps on there now, isn't there? Playing the martyr at work -- definitely. And I've emailed MOLLYSMOM to ask if Molly can come over and paint my toenails. Thanks again, everyone! Sincerely!

I have an essential oil combination called Germ Shield that has peppermint, tea tree oil and eucalyptus in it. I love the smell, and it really seems to help open the sinuses and even helps headaches go away. Chicken soup really is good, and even if you just have chicken *broth* it's helpful - plus you can add cayenne, which clears the sinuses and helps you get well faster. Hope you're back to full strength soon, Heinz! Little ketchup joke for ya there ;-)

If you like the smell, but don't like the feel of Vapor rub maybe that will work for you.
