I'm always intrigued with commercials where they have to add the disclaimer.

Is it for Toyota Trucks? Where the big, beefy construction working jumping onto a moving truck filled with Toyota trucks. Bottom of the screen reads: 'Professional stuntmen on closed course. Do not attempt.'

    Duh...

I love those commercials! I find myself doing a bad english accent for at least a half an hour after watching those... :)

I think Toyota and Chevy both have commercials like that... I love reading the disclaimers on most commercials, they put some funny (even if it's not supposed to be) stuff in there... The one Toyota commercial that had a truck getting hit by a meteorite and still going had a pretty funny one, but I can't remember what it is right now...

Ooohh... Another campaign I really liked was the credit card commercials where they had people talking but the voices were those of the people that stole the credit cards... Those were good! Also the Capital One commercials are pretty good too!

    :)

Maybe it's juts the amazement of seeing a device that can do so much -- for so little money.

And I absolutely hate locally-produced ads for car dealerships where the announcer is literally SCREAMING at the viewer/listener (they're on the radio, too). If one of them were the LAST car dealership on EARTH and I needed a new car... I'd buy a bicycle before EVER doing business with those obnoxious people.

No!!! You're just viewing them with the wrong attitude!!!

In a world where everything is in constant flux, the locally-produce car commercial, complete with the 'I paid for this 30 seconds and I damn sure intend to fill it with as much as I can' salesperson is like comfort food for the soul!

You've got everything in those ads you could possibly want... and more! There are the crane-shots of the lot packed to the property lines with gleaming cars. Starbusts with prices! Logos everywhere! 12 pages of fine print squeezed to fit on the bottom of the screen as American flags wave.

Sometimes, the salesperson wears an Uncle Sam costume, points right at the screen a shouts "I want YOU ... to save money at Bottleneck Ford!" At Christmas, he wears a jaunty Santa hat and says "I don't care if your credit is naughty or nice... we have a plan for YOU at Bottleneck Ford!"

How could anyone hate that? It's magic, i tell you.

Does that make me a magic man?

    ;)

I really hate to do this too, and am forced to pack 10 pounds of crap into a 5 pound bag... The Managers paid for a 3x6 and darn it if they aren't going to use every bit of the white space available!

At least we don't do the shouting... :)

LVBelle... I can actually handle John Barr... He doesn't (usually) shout. The one 'personality' (thanks to the idiots that gave him his own show on A&E) here that makes me want to barf is The Chopper, aka "King of Cars" (in his own mind!) Just a loud, obnoxious kid who wouldn't even have a job if it wasn't for his daddy. His ridiculous ads full of other idiots like him, only in costume, are directed at gangbangers and they can keep him.

The Energizer bunny. We get it already. Kill the wabbit.

    Commercials I Love, Vol. 1:

Comcastic ads. They're silly, offbeat, clever. I like the Sowsky family, who don't want their Internet connection to be too fast, the $10,000 Pyramid commerical, the elderly couple dancing to illustrate dial up vs. DSL vs. broadband. Why does the guy randomly tell me that adding cumin peps up a meatloaf at the end of the commercial, or he starts to explain the benefits of jazzercise? I dunno, but it's funny anyway.

The Volkswagen crash ads. Shocking but effective.
