Have you ever considered that maybe conservatives sometimes find liberals smarmy and self-righteous?

<You try to make yourself seem like you're above everyone else around here, but you're just as -- if not worse than -- the people you denigrate here.>

I'm not trying to do any such thing. And if I denigrate anyone, it's because I'm returning fire, not initiating it.

If you watch Hannity for an hour, then give MSNBC an hour. If you read a book by a conservative, then read one by a liberal."

But I also thing that when (not if) the time comes that this administration moves to get talk radio and Fox news "modified" in some fashion, that will be a bad thing.

Should we take away their ability to go on TV and say and do whatever they wish? You cannot legitimately claim that "one side" is worse than "other side." If you truly truly feel that one side is "far worse" about this than the other, then you need to be more objective.

What goes around certainly comes around.

Are you saying or implying that a "level of insane hysteria" has never existed on the Left?

Let's keep apples to apples and oranges to oranges.

Yeah, that's a problem I have as well. The conservative media seems to be upset that the word "war" is falling out of fashion. They would prefer that there is a "war" on everything. Really? Aren't we being a little dramatic? Should we really be overusing and thus desensitizing the word "war" so that it seems like we're always in one about something? "War on terror", "War on Christmas", "Culture War". So, people are expected to be in a constant state of fight? Talk about needless stress... Aren't we allowed to prevent terrorisim without calling it a "war" anymnre? It doesn't mean things will stop just because of a word...

    Nope. Not buying this.

#1, It separates everybody into sides. Even on TV, there are still some people with functioning brains.

#2, Even if you do separate everybody into sides, there is only one side in recent years who has used a deliberate strategy of just making stuff up and then repeating it over and over until all their ignorant followers believe it. Their reasoning being that the end justifies the means.

In a battle between right and wrong, or lies and truth, I don't believe that lies and wrong deserve equal time.

Sure, but it worked. That side now controls both houses of Congress and the White House.

Oh I see. You mean you only believe that you are right, and all else are wrong. Ok.

After all, I don't think that "THEY" believe they are wrong either. So let's deny them their right to express their opinons being that those are "wrong."

    ...and the beat goes on.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion.
You being called biased though, and being accused of ridiculing others is pretty interesting.
From what I've seen on these boards, when you don't agree with them, the namecalling and putdowns start, and they are relentless about it.
Which is fine too, if that's their style of communication.
But when they accuse you of the same thing that they do, it seems a little odd.
I'm an Independent, but tend to lean right. I can admit it when the people I support don't do the right thing. I can admit their culpability when credit is due.
Very rarely do I see that coming from the liberals who most frequently post on this board.
