Or NYC. Or Branson ... <<I think a better choice for a location would have been where Walt planned to build the Asia hotel on the Seven Seas Lagoon over by TTC opposite the Polynesian ( where the toparies use to be ).>> The site for the Asian Resort was taken up by the GF. Where you're taking about was considered/planned for a Mediterranean Resort in the early 90s, but can't be built on due to a large amount of sinkholes and unstable land in the area. <<This building is bland. And where its being placed is totally wrong for the WDW. Put it somewhere else.>> How about Atlantic City?

I'm sure there are other ways to get a large capacity. But, yes, I agree, it seemed to me an efficient way to get many units. While not inspiring, efficient.

Had dinner tonight at the Cal Grill, which I am very happy to report is still incredible despite the chef change and we even have some cool new music playing including Beatles tunes, and was shocked to find a massive green mesh covered fence wrapped around the entire North Wing, half of the parking lot in front of said wing, all around the back, and even into Bay Lake. When I looked down from the observation level on the 4th floor, the parking lot was being torn up. Lights had been removed, trees had been cut down and it just appears like massive work is about to start. Massive. Did I say massive? Since nothing like this happened with the South Wing when it was rehabbed this year, well, you all do the math. It may not (let's pray) be the 16-story Fairfield like tacky timeshare highrise, but something big is happening there. Maybe one of the local lazy reporters who lurks here can look into this beyond what Disney's press office says?

They tried that and it didn't work. But the place is just consistently great. I can't say that about any other WDW restaurant ... certainly not over an 11-year period.

You can see that the theme park vacation market is being tapped out. 10 years ago an addition like Everest would have influenced significant growth. In today's climate it is more of a measure to keep things stable.

I do worry what Disney will do 25 years from now when the DVC resorts need major improvement, the contracts haven't expired yet, and there isn't the demand for Disney sold DVC memberships as there is now. Talk about a rise in the maintenance fees...
