Oh ... I just noticed a blunder of mine ...

I don't know why in my head .. when I saw the word "Magic" in the title .... I was thinking Magic Mountain. Please pardon me.

I just wizzed right by the word "Kingdom". One of those little silly things.

Anyway ... at least I did bring up the actual Swan Boat ride eventually. ;)

Isn't that what Screamin' is supposed to be?

Yeah, those were about as interesting as they looked from the promenade. I remember doing those as a kid and they were almost as lame as the Motorboat Cruise in Fantasyland.

Other than having shuttles that traversed the lagoon, I can't see any way that a boat scenic boat tour would work.

The problems would be a) I bet it would be shut down at night, just when the view becomes nice enough to make it work and b) some couples would inevitably have too much of a sense of being isolated and become too romantic. Nothing X rated, but do you really want to look out over the lake to see some 20something couple locking lips?

I have often argued in favor of little A, B and C ticket attractions to round out the day. So I am inclined to give it the benefit of the doubt. It makes sense, but I wonder that the payoff doesn't seem worth the cost - slow moving line where there isn't room for one and preventing the lake being used for something more worthwhile (though the track for the ride could double as the track for a water-borne parade).

I'm just glad it's not a Paramount or Six Flags park, where for a quarter you could shoot a water cannon at the people in the swan boats.

If you are just stoked to be there and you are excited because you don't get to ride in a boat on PP Lagoon at home then I think you'd have a great time.

It's like the movie Half Baked. Remember the guy that was all, "Have you ever seen a dollar bill...on weed". His point was that something that was normally mundane was more exciting with a different perspective.

I'm not saying try riding the boats on weed, I'm saying try doing whatever mundane activities you do at the DLR with the attitude that you are Disneyland and you could be at work and maybe it would be more exciting....I don't know....just a thought
