And the proof of that fundamental truth gets made manifest when there are those who say that what Ann did marks the lowest form of conduct a human being can engage in. The person who isn't willing to say that about those who fly planes into buildings or who cut off people's heads on Internet feeds is ultimately the person with some out of whack priorities when it comes to looking at the world....just like the contemptible Jersey Girls.

It still comes down to you pointing fingers at everyone else for doing exactly what you, yourself, are doing. Oh, you know how SPP feels about the hijackers, do you? I was unaware that he had to state how he feels about the hijackers everytime he makes a comment about someone else's behavior. Wow, SPP, that's going to make some awfully long posts for you from now on.

Ann Coulter's new book, "Godless: The Church of Liberalism," has prompted criticism from Sen. Hillary Clinton and other members of Congress. It has stirred heated debate in media forums. And today, it has so stirred the passions of Advertising Age columnist Simon Dumenco that he has called for the popular columnist and commentator to kill herself. In a column taking on several media entities and individuals who bug him, Ad Age's "media guy" asks: "Would it kill you, 'Godless' author Ann Coulter, to do us all a favor and kill yourself? (Oh, well, yeah, I guess it would kill you." "After her recent rabidly hateful, foaming-at-the-mouth, sub-human 'Today' show appearance – in which she reiterated her assertion that 9-11 widows are 'enjoying their husband's (sic) deaths' – even her former supporters began to fantasize about how much nicer the world would be if it were Coulterless," wrote Dumenco. In her new book, the WND columnist argues that while many Americans are outraged by liberal hostility to traditional religion, to focus solely on the Left's attacks on Judeo-Christian tradition is to miss a larger point: Liberalism is a religion – a godless one.

What personal attack? I'm just pointing out that you are just like the people you are complaining about. That's not an attack. And it's something you keep proving over and over again. Until you admit that you are just as bad as those you complain about, not many people are going to put any stock in what you say.

Seems to you, with your blinkered worldview. And of course, she is the one who has a current book out, and is much in the news now. Moreover, she invites the controversy, and profits from it. If you think she's upset that everyone has risen to the bait and is talking about her, you're quite naive. <that includes desires for her demise (expressed by people less desirous of having seen Zarqawi assume room temperature)> I see the same wishes on right-wing sites for the likes of Michael Moore. Since when do two wrongs make a right? <and calls for censorship and book burning, as in the case of two NJ assemblymen.> And here we see the typical hyperbole instead of facts and reasoned argument. They called at most for a boycott. Which is their right, and our right to ignore it, same as the Baptists calling for a Disney boycott. Book burning? I didn't see these assemblymen call for burning of books. Did I miss something? Oh wait - no. There was no such call. How silly of me to expect facts.

Or something like that.

You get indignant because I express a POV that does not conform to what you regard as a truism in life, namely that no one should be able to defend Ann Coulter or make the case for what she said. But OTOH, I won't hold my breath waiting for you to denounce Passholder's standard of what constitutes the lowest form of human behavior. "I see the same wishes on right-wing sites for the likes of Michael Moore." Oh really? Cite an article from National Review Online, The Weekly Standard, the American Spectator, Newsmax, Frontpagemag.com, the Heritage Foundation etc. that says any such thing and I'll take that little bit of silliness seriously. But I won't hold my breath waiting for a citation there. And as for a "blinkered" worldview Dabob, I suggest you have a chat with your friend Passholder.

My whole life is based on things about Ann Coulter. Talk about a personal attack. LOL Besides, you aren't defending Ann's point, you are calling it satire and truth. Yet everyone else is a hostile, liar. You keep challenging other people to be outraged about what Al Franken says, yet you pat Ann on the back for being a sweet little satirist. Where is your outrage that she uses the same tactics as Al Franken? How do you dare to challenge others with a feat that you do not seem capable of completing? (I have stated in numerous threads that I am sick of BOTH sides.) Why don't you practice what you preach? ASking you to put your money where your mouth is is NOT a personal attack. Do you feel attacked because you know it's true? That seems to be the only answer I can come up with. LOL

Originally Posted By Eric Paddon "You keep challenging other people to be outraged about what Al Franken says," Well it helps when I note that (1) nothing Ann does even comes close to what Franken does and (2) nothing Franken does to make an allegedly "satirical" point is based on any kind of deeper truth. The debate this is ultimately about are the deeper truths that Franken or Coulter are trying to allegedly put forward, and when it comes to that kind of contest, Ann has the simple virtue of having the truth on her side. So therefore, Ann is not the same as Al. But amusingly, Franken's "satire" rooted in false premises gets yucks from the media elite who then get indignant when Ann uses satire to point out a fundamental truth (i.e. that the Jersey Girls are contemptible people trying to stifle open debate on matters of national security policy by using their victimhood status). The difference is quite evident. So in short, I've answered your question. It's not my fault that you've started from a faulty premise.

Passholder said Ann Coulter's actions were the lowest form of human behavior, and that remark is fair game for comment as to its general silliness.
