It's a consolation to me to see all the CBJ references around Critter Country, and in the Pooh ride itself. (BTW, I only ride it to catch a glimpse of them.)

I think it was a big mistake to replace them with Pooh, a decision that I feel was likely driven by pressure to exploit the fact that Pooh merchandise was a hot seller then more than anything other reason. Sadly, we ended up with a "cut-rate" Pooh attraction in the trade. I was lucky that I got to be in one of the two theaters for the final public shows the day Bears closed. I shed tears. Of all the attractions that have gone away over the years, this is the one that still really hurts. There was something special about it. To me, the Bear characters were as much a part of Disneyland as Mickey and all the other characters in the park, and, there is a sad void without the iconic Bears. (It is sad, too, that one of Marc Davis' great contributions to DL is no longer there. There was so much of Marc in Bears.)
