That is why we go to WDW over places much closer like Six Flags. Six Flags and Carowinds and other parks like that have nothing to really offer my family.

It's almost if management is selective in when ridership numbers are important when using the metric to factually support their predetermined initiatives.

With genius cost cutting measures like that, you could replace Meg Crofton. >> Yet, Disneyland, a less attended ... so thus, less popular ... park can afford to present two (2) Holiday makeovers every year, while MK no longer provides any. << More than anything else that got me to thinking about this issue. It's obvious because of the repeat guest at DL they feel more obligated to please the locals. It's not a very good reason, but do you think WDW being so much a world wide destination actually hurts it? I know that should not have any influence on quality of show, but it sure seems to. I wonder how the number of AP holders, and DVC owners at WDW stack up against the numbers at DL.

WDW Management can't even figure out how to refurbish Space Mountain after 34 years; they wouldn't stand a chance out in Anaheim. Actually, they didn't, many of them failed during DCA's unveiling; some tucking their tales between their legs scampering back to Florida. It's funny that whether it was 1955 or 2005 Disneyland has always innovated with tight resources. Perhaps that's the trick, eh? Perhaps the rumored lean years ahead for WDW will ground things a little bit. I AM looking forward to a lot a well-intentioned refurbishments in Orlando. My point which shouldn't be effected by the dynamic that you raise, Pierce, is that for years they did the Holiday makeover at CBJ. They did it prior to either coast really putting the Holiday season into marketing and decoration overdrive. Now that they are pushing the Christmas season very hard, and now that a (less attended) Disneyland is doing more than ever for Christmas, it seems very backwards to stop doing CBJ's overlay. Especially with the figure that Spirit quoted. Just think of how insignificant 10K is when you're looking at the price per person for the dozen plus Christmas after hours events or the plethora of daytime entertainment in the four parks that most guests walk right by. So much for "changing this here, or keeping the park fresh", huh? Another ol'standby line that is trotted out when it suits management's intentions.
