I doubt whether Jay will discuss current occupancy rates and guest spend beyond the A3 close (June 30) but he will be asked to comment on trends - not always insightful but analysts expect that information for their briefing notes. August 10 will tell us something about how WDW Co. is holding up under a myriad of different pressures. Obviously that won't tell us the impact of Potterland though.

PP always has long waits. BUT if you took FP away that 70 minute wait would likely be a lot closer to 20-30 minutes.

<<With stores sending your purchases back to your hotel, it's hard to tell if people are buying or not. >>

Doesn't account for folks staying off-property or the folks who don't send stuff back. Disney wouldn't be discounting merchandise if things weren't bad. Other than a select few items depending on season, Disney didn't discount merchandise.

<<The week we were there was weird. I'm use to Florida rain, a half hour then back to sun. But this trip we had five days where it drizzled or poured off and on all day. I'm sure that had an effect on attendance. >>

FLA weather has been very screwy the past few years ... that said, the only way that had any effect on attendance would have been locals. If someone spends $8K on a magical WDW vacation, they aren't going to sit in their room at the BC and twiddle their thumbs because it's raining ... they're going to put on those tacky ponchos and head to EPCOT.

For 6 weeks it could not be that good and still draw huge crowds - and it is acknowledged this is good.>>

    Agreed.

<<the economy has made a major hit on everything- so it is a good time for WWoHP to look good because especially locals are going to go there to see something new..I would if I were them also. But 6 weeks means little in theme park land>>

Agreed again ... but I'd also caution against thinking that locals are the main group pushing IOA's numbers up (not that even that matters as The Mouse would gladly take locals' dollars as well) ... people are traveling from all over the world to see this ... and they universally seem to love what UNI has created.

sorry, but I cry bull on this one...in 20+ years of going to WDW- mostly summer monts due to kids -- PP has NEVER been 20-30 mins..never ever ever was always at least 45 and usually closer to an hour--I also remember 2 hr waits back in the day.. so I know you're not a FP fan, but let' not get crazy here

you're right, also understanding that since most of us only get away once a year- since vacation time in the US sucks compared to the rest of the world...we're going to have some fun -regardless... as it may be another year before we do anything again..so while walkingin the rain sucks, it beats the alternative

Pan often can be less. Hell, on a blustery beautiful December day last year it was posted at 15 minutes in mid-afternoon and would have been a walk on if not for FP.

It does almost always have waits, I agree. But not all the time ... and it is made worse by FP.

BTW, whatever happened to Danny? Does he ever post on this board anymore?

I got so bored on this Place yesterday I did the unthinkable and waded back into MAGICal waters ... I'll blame the heat and the alcohol ... but where is everybody? In this economy you aren't all busy working, I'm sure!

I've never seen that, save for at MVMCP.

    And Magic? Why lower yourself?
