I do too Jim! When they do Star Wars weekends in WDW, their Chewbacca character looks so real! I want my family to get a picture with him so bad! That's definitely worthy of framing and putting on my desk at work!

So far, we have the makings of this:

    <a target="blank" rel="nofollow" href="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8109/8552396962_4fe386906f_b.jpg">http://farm9.staticflickr.com/...6f_b.jpg</a>

The very primitive looking environments of the planet Tatooine!

How is any of that a fit for Tomorrowland?

Then in the background .. is what appears to be half a "Death Star" with it's circular weapon arc pointing across the sky. This structure ... apparently the roof of what perhaps? A shop? That could be a force-perspective artpiece ... that Half Death Star could be small for a shop .. it could be larger. Unknown

In any event .... it's a dark metallic grey object ... In the daylight ... wouldn't look half as bad - As the sun sets .. and goes into nighttime ... it will take on a "sinister" moody look ... Just look at any artwork for any Star Wars city in a google search - All medium to dark grays - No colors .. barely any whites or chromatic accents .. Just all one monotonous Medium to Dark Grays .... It's all depressing - As far as I'm concerned .. NONE OF IT belongs in Tomorrowland at all!

But to what means? How does Disney benefit from this potentially expensive redo? It removes a popular character from a popular attraction, just for the sake of making the area consistent. While I'd like to think that the folks approving the budgets have the desire to see that sort of thematic integrity, it's foolish to think they do

By giving it any sort of Star Wars theme (Storm Trooper or otherwise) it gives them yet another attraction based on the same franchise. Potentially if a guest isn't interested in SW, they would be turned off from the rethemed Buzz, giving them one fewer attraction they want to ride. By keeping the themes diverse, it helps keep variety in a day's visit to the park, adds to the overall texture of the experience, and is significantly cheaper than any sort of retheme.

The only current TL attractions that I could conceviably see getting a Star Wars redo are the Astro Orbitor, Autopia, and Space Mountain, since they're all relatively generic and would be fairly simple to redo without the need for a real linear story or expensive sets and figures

As Constance said, they have him in WDW for Star Wars Weekends, and he's a lot of fun! They have a ton of characters from the various movies, but I think Chewey is definitely one of the crowd favorites, along with the Ewoks

OK, let's stop calling it Tomorrowland then. Except for a brief period during the 70s the theme has been mostly a bust anyway.

You are over thinking this. What I'm talking about is the same shooting gallery type ride just redesigned to fit the new theme.

If your talking about that old Disneyland Paris concept art that Half Death Star in the background was a new version of Space Mountain. You can even see the familiar spires on the roof

Yes, but Buzz skews to a younger demographic, so they'll probably want to keep something for them in the hypothetically-revamped Tomorrowland (aka Long Long Agoland)

I assumed that it would be a new roof for Space Mountain (or whatever they call it in Paris)

As much as some of us want to see certain attractions bite the dust (including myself) ... I think it's very unlikely the 8 year old Buzz Lightyear attraction .. and the $173 million dollar 6 year old Finding Nemo Subs are going absolutely no where!

I don't know how Lego would feel about this, but the Lego Star Wars games are very popular with the younger crowd. Using Lego versions of the Star Wars characters would be a great way to change it to Star Wars, yet still appeal to the younger crowds.

Although, I think Star Wars in general, the characters at least, already appeal to a younger crowd. my son has been wanting to be Star Wars characters since he was 3.
