I was planning to stick to staying at the AK after reading these boards but she kept telling me that it would be noted that I refused their offer and we could very likely arrive and not have a room and than have to worry about where to go--our only option then would be Saratoga Springs. So I took the room at the Boardwalk to avoid further aggravation.>> Yeah, nothing like the high pressure 'we only have one room and if you don't grab it someone else will' tactic. I, personally, prefer DAK Lodge to the Boardwalk, although they are both very nice. I just had a very nice stay the BW Villas a few weeks ago. I am curious about two things (and you don't have to answer if you don't feel comfortable): 1.) are you getting an Inn room or a Villa at the BW? (FWIW, Inn rooms are next up for rehab after Grand Flo is done, so they could be a little rough around the edges, although I don't know this so don't freak.) and 2.) are they honoring your original price or giving you a discount for your inconvenience?

I remember hearing about concierge at two price points - standard room concierge and Studio Appartment Concierge, as well as DVCers (studio, 1, 2 and 3 bed units) having access to concierge at additional point tariffs. This seems to make sense. But I agree. Although I like DVC as a concept, I prefer the DVC properties to be their own units ala OKW & SS. Not bolt ons - WL, BCV, AKL etc. Although with Boardwalk being designed and built as one entity seems to work. As for the Suites, I am certain they will remain, although they could be converted to 1, 2 or 3 beds I would have thought.

I called immediately and spoke with someone else and was told my rate was the same as AK which was $212. (AAA rate for poolview with bunkbeds). I got an e-mail last night stating I'm paying $315./night (which if rack rate). I was on the phone first thing this morning and waiting for a return call, now I am extremely annoyed.

Not at the Lodge. < yep, just found that out too -- when I saw the name of the event I just assumed -- my bad

There is no way in the deepest reaches of hell, I would pay them $100 more than I was supposed to pay due to them inconveniencing me and my family at last minute. Talk about a non-magical start to a vacation. Good luck.

She told me we'd have a gift basket waiting for us when we got there. I wonder how many other people are goint through this same thing. Oh well, I'm still going to plan to have a good time.
