I think that's the best possible comparison to describe the scale and scope of the Little Mermaid ride. It seems like it's much more elaborate than anything in Fantasyland, but still not quite to Pirates/Mansion level. For having never been on either of them, it's pretty amazing how you paired them like that. I might have to use that comparison in the future! : )

How is RSR going to be something other than a fast ride? It'll have the fancy AAs with screens, that's about it.

And you know this based on... what?

If this were the standard (and please note the qualifier), then Universal would be a total failure. There is not one truly "themed" coaster in a Uni park. (And yes, I include the Mummy.)

Then you have been doing some mighty selective reading do dismiss what has been released as nothing more than, "It'll have the fancy AAs with screens, that's about it."

If "revolutionary" is the standard, then you've got me. The last "revolutionary" attraction I experienced was Forbidden Journey, and it didn't blow me away. But I sure didn't dismiss it out of hand. And, I did at least wait until actually experiencing it before forming a conclusive opinion.

"Complete immersion" means that you are in the actual fanstasy world itself. It means you are a character within Peter Pan, and live in the actual Neverland.

You're got to be kidding me. Seriously. There's absolutely nothing you can say that will allow me to take you seriously after this.

The Hulk, even when applying the impressionistic approach, is not very successful in it's themeing. I mean, I get what they are doing theme wise. But it is what it is. I also think theme wise California Screamin' is quite lame. And please don't try and explain it again. I get it, and still think it is lazy.
So to recap, I think other than BTMRR all theme coasters have their issues with themeing. But given the ease with which EE should have been to fully theme the run out through the grass is disappointing.

Many advanced AAs. Fully realized scenery inside a detailed showbuilding. Improved Test Track ride system. Racing feature. What's not to love?
Revolutionary? Doesn't have to be in order to be just awesome.

Well, no....it won't be $400mil worth of awesome. No reason to evere spend that much on a single ride.
I think they must stand around over there burning piles of money...

When my buddy told me that the project was reaching that level (this was months ago, so I'm sure it's over that at this point), I just stared at him awe struck.

I'm excited to ride it, but about 200 million of that budject would have looked nice being pumped into DAK or DHS...

PS. Anyone know when Racers is set to open? I'm trying to get out there sometime in May. Hoping to see that and Transformers at USH.

    Sigh.

There's a reason I was careful to include the words "please note the qualifier" in my statement. Drop that, and it is, indeed, a pretty unbelievable statement. Here's the whole thing:

Please tell me which coaster at Uni meets the qualification of "complete immersion." (And that's not even MY standard.)
