At this point, I would say the top 4 is pretty obvious: Joey - needs to tone down the hammy-ness, especially when he gets to more "serious" dances like the waltz. Leila - Wow - far and away the best female star. And she looked great in that outfit, unlike most of the women. Even this early, I see her in the final 2. Apolo - Big improvement (in my eyes at least) from last week. He's going to go far in this show for sure - he sure has the young girl market wrapped up. (And didn't he look like a little boy trying on his dad's tux?) Ian - Impressive like last week, but frankly I didn't remember anything about there dance when it came to the end. And did you see Cheryl's face when they were lumped with the "middle group" in the voting at the end? Priceless. As for the others, the stand outs were Heather's walk-over (did not expect that!) and the big leap forwards that Billy Ray and Clyde made. Last week, I would have said Billy Ray was a goner. But something tells me that his country western fans will save him (remember, they saved Sara Evans last year). My prediction for who gets voted off: sorry birthday girl, but I think it will be Leeza. Not sure why, just have a feeling ...

For the recap shows they seem to always have a guest singer or band, show the dances again, like you said, and have a few dances with only the pros. To me, it seems like a long hour. My Mom and sister love it b/c they like watching the pros.

Since this go round they had 2 weeks before an elimination instead of 1 like the seasons before, they felt it necessary to run a "performance recap" show (the first hour seen last night). And yes, there really wasn't much point to it if you had watched the first 2 episodes, but, hey, it is one of ABC's most popular shows, so they are going to figure out ways to run it as much as possible. Usually the recap shows always have the judge's favorite dance from the night before performed again, but last night it was pretty much overkill, true, since Leila's mambo was seen less then a 30 minutes before. I like the result shows - they remind me of the old variety shows I used to watch when I was a kid. Also, I think they should do the 2 weeks at the beginning without an elimination from now on. As for that elimination - wow, did not see that coming, especially since she got pretty decent scores. Guess supermodels don't have as many fans as ... beauty pageant winners?
