It's also about a 5-10 minute walk from Notre Dame or the Louvre. Basically anything she'd want to see in the city other than the Eiffel Tower or Monmartre are within walking distance, though obviously some things are further than others; since it's near the train station everything is really easy to get to The train station can be confusing since there are so many exits and the signage isn't the best, but once you get your bearings it's pretty easy. There were some 'interesting' shops near the hotel, but the area never felt seedy or unsafe. The hotel itself is pretty plain (it may be the smallest room I've ever had), but it has a certain charm to it and it definitely met all of my needs (safe, convenient, comfortable, cheapish). Looking at it now, the price has gone up a little (possibly because it's summer), but still reasonable for such a central location http://tinyurl.com/lfv3yva
