The original plans were to not invest in that park for at least five plus years. Instead large investments had to be made to continously change entertainment and push forward two expensive attractions. As much as i love how TDS came out with its incredible design, the pakr has had problems since opening

Buzz is a Tomorrowland staple at this point (though I'm not 100% sold on a toy belonging in Tomorrowland...but ALL the parks have it right? Except Paris?). And Toontown is a copy of Disneyland Anaheim...it is what it is. I think Skellington is attempting to cleverly make some sort of point about how Tokyo Disney is "the same as the rest", but since he really doesn't know anything about the place (he tried to say the new Sindbad rehab was somehow "bad"...how silly is THAT!?)...he's just grasping at straws. When DisneySea gets all charactered up and lame, I'll go ahead and agree with him. But up to this point, it hasn't happened...not one bit, really (certainly not like god awful DCA, anyway!).

But again, as long as its GOOD, I don't get too upset as I *hope* much of DCA will be with the new stuff, cartoon or not .
Originally Posted By barboy "Paris has Buzz as well. It is ok- not as good as DL's." This doesn't make too much sense to me; all 4 at Anaheim, Tokyo, Hong Kong and Paris are identical--- mere carbon copies--- aren't they? Now, the Magic Kingdom's version of '98 in Orlando with its attached or fixed guns to the ride vehicle is a bit more dated and moves along a different route since it was the original Buzz which took over the Dream Flight or Take Flight show building. The other 4 came pretty close together in time and used more or less the same designs and plans to cut down on costs.

And recently the conversation turned to the new Nemo land being kicked around for the back corner of DisneySea. OLC wants as many Pixar characters as it can get for DisneySea, according to them. And what exactly does Monsters Inc. have to do with Tomorrowland? As for DCA, this first wave of announcements is great news. It addresses all of the most glaring errors with the current DCA, in a logical order; Main Entrance, Paradise Pier, New Lavish E Ticket. Now that the big news is out of the bag, I look forward to the follow up announcements over the next 9 months that will address the fine tuning and 1930's theme of Hollywood Backlot, and the cosmetic tweaks to Golden State/Condor Flats that are also coming. Good times in Anaheim!

The fact that except for Midway Mania and World of Color, no exact dates for anything have been given (oh, the preview center too ... and one must wonder why they need to wait a year to open such a simple thing) does give me reason for pause. I've become very skeptical of big Disney announcements. I remember Disney's America well ... and the original proposal for DAK ... and even the Burbank Backlot in the late 1980s. Show me.

Originally Posted By Mr X **And what exactly does Monsters Inc. have to do with Tomorrowland?** Agreed...that's why if they actually do cut tomorrowland in Half (it's already a gigantic space) and create that hollywood concept (which would comprise the theater, the Buzz/theater street, and the worldbazaar area comprising Star Tours and Monsters...it would be AWSOME and allow them to focus on Tomorrowland as it was always meant to be. (Personally I'm hoping for the first "intrapark" peoplemover traversing Tomorrowland and Port Discovery...how cool would THAT be?)
