(13,000 were at DCA, for those keeping score at home.)<< That means that DCA got about 18% of the DLR attendance that day. That is a prety poor showing, when if you look at the last few years of park attendance as reported by Amusement Business, DCA has been getting about 30% of the DLR attendance. >>The silver lining to this mess is that for the third weekend this holiday season, California Adventure (DCA) had its attendance numbers padded by a few extra thousand after Disneyland was closed and day ticket sales were stopped, and DCA's attendance for Saturday edged just past 17,000 for the day instead of its usual 13,000 or 14,000 weekend take. << So with Disneyland hitting capacity (hard gate close, no re-entry), all DCA could get is a few thousand extra guests(just over half of its capacity ). Looks like a lot of folks decided to go somewhere else for the day. Heck, maybe it was Knott's, they had over 27,000 on Saturday, 12/10..... >>There's also plenty of work underway, and soon to begin, at DCA as part of the attempt to retheme and rebrand that struggling theme park. Matt is determined to see DCA succeed on its own, rather than just being the extra theme park next door where people go as a consolation prize when Disneyland gets too crowded or when they shut down the turnstiles for the day. <<

When i got to the MK lot (I drove from home), I was given a card and told that I should go to one of the other parks. i went to EPCOT, but then took the monorail over to the MK. It was crowded, but not CROWDED. I can't really imagine EPCOT ever being full.... that park is huge. DAK is the smallest when it comes to guest areas, but I can't imagine that place ever hitting capacity... it's not like they have special entertainment. MGM I could see, as it's not that big either, and they do have shows and things that could cause it to get pretty full, like right now with the holidays, the Osborne lights, Fantasmic... but that's merely speculation on my part.
