Imagine a teacup on a roller coaster car. a 90 degree vertical turn with a spinning car means you may be right side up, upside down or spiinning. I will try to find a pic of a similar outdoor ride like Dragon's Fury for you. It is a Maurer Sonne spinning coaster.

As for kids riding, there are no OSRs, it a a between the legs safety bar. You will see on the video.

I understand your "upside down" point now. Looking at the track with the lights on, some of those banked turns really are pretty steep!

Looks great, I'd love to check it out someday.

Sure, the park is no TDS, but they did a fantastic job with the limited budget. Now if instead of the stupid Toy Story Playland, we could have had some nice restaurants and a dark ride (rumoured the upcoming Ratatouille development should sort out two of those issues), it would be a lot more compelling.

That, in itself, points out a problem with the park.

Nobody has ever gone to Disneyland or Epcot with the expectation that it might suck, and that they might be wasting their time.

Word of mouth travels far and fast.

And anyone who ever went to Disneyland, rode a couple of rides, and left claiming the place sucked would be laughed at (same with Epcot).

It's DISNEY'S task to make sure that all their parks are up to par, not the customers for hearing bad things and thus not giving the place a fair shake.

And back when DisneySea was new and very busy, I did encounter a person or two who only rode a ride or two (due to extreme crowds, for the most part), and left the place thinking "DisneySea really sucks"...

THAT'S why the idea of a-b-c-d-e coupons is so important for a theme park mix...on busy days people should at LEAST be able to experience some stuff that isn't quite so daunting and have a chance to enjoy some stuff even if it isn't the "headliner" attractions everyone is in line for (or grabbed fastpasses for quickly, leaving newcomers in the dust).

In any case, don't blame the customer...the company should make it an enjoyable day for all, Walt Disney understood that concept intimately.

That said, I have met just as many people in real life who prefer WDSP to DLP as I have the other way around. Really.

I LOVED the shops at D-MGM. The interiors were all spot on-- each a perfect match for the merchandise. (And back in '89 it wasn't all generic souvenirs!) I was shocked at the interiors at DCA. They remind me of the false fronted "backlot" shops at Uni Hollywood.

    >>Add in the greatest animation attraction on the planet.<<
While I LOVE Animation at DCA (the lobby is a near religious experience), for me nothing will ever match the original Animation Tour at D-MGM. It was so well done and, unlike most of the stuff the rest of the park offered, real. They really were creating Disney animation, and we got to see the whole process.

    >>Tower of Terror. Well internally, I actually prefer the DCA/WDSP to the DHS version... WE have a garden (which DCA does not have), and a great view of DLP itself.<<
Oddly, I prefer the exterior of DCA. It's more like a Hollywood building, where you do not find extensive gardens and such. (You need to go over to Beverly Hills for that!) I like stepping off a bustling street and into the neglected gloom of the Hollywood Tower.

And, of course, the great view of Walt Disney's ORIGINAL magic kingdom.

    >>I think people do not give this park the right chance. I have known many, particularly American guests who are short on time, to go into the park, ride a couple of the rides and then say, gee, this park sucks.<<
That's part of what happened to DCA, too, I think. And, as X pointed out, it's as much Disney's fault as it is the lazy tourists. It's a burden to bear, but Disney parks have very specific expectations.

Sorry, yes, I agree. Seeing Brother Bear being produced on the real tour was a thrill. It seems like a lifetime ago and sadly I had forgotten. It is a shame that is no longer an option. A real loss. But today, DCA has the best current animation attraction in the parks, beating DHS, WDSP and HKDL IMHO.
