Ooops... not sure where it went, but my response to this was that I agree that GRR is really fun and a great ride to meet other guests visiting the park while chatting it up on the lift hill. It's always hilarious when someone gets dunked real good. Moreover, I love the fact the DCA has a mountain - something that few parks other than the Magic Kingdoms have.

Dean, It was March, it wasn't hot out really. We were a bit chilled, but it was worth it, of course I didn't get very wet, she on the other hand was soaked to the bone, lol.

The expectations are .... experiences where people can expect more than just the ordinary. If I want an "ordinary expected" experience ... There's 3 other raft rides from three other parks in SoCal I can go to - The "expected" group: Knott's, Magic Mountain, Sea World

Some of the ideas for Disney's America are in DCA: <a href="http://disneyandmore.blogspot.com/2008/03/disneys-america-theme-park-project.html" target="_blank">http://disneyandmore.blogspot....ect.html</a>

You talk about how you want the Peoplemover to return and yet there are dozens of these types of conveyances all around the world. How many parks have steam trains circling them? Or monorails? I could go on. The point is that there is very little at DLR that can't be found elsewhere. It may be short of a few AA critters along the route, but as raft rides go, GRR is about as Disney as you can get .

Has ANYONE ever seen that musical "Footlight Parade" that's "one of my favorites" for every guide?

The Oz scene is great, the rest, not so much. The whole highjacking thing is really lame. I always found it disappointing. I enjoy GRR. When I'm wiliing to risk getting wet.

I consider it the icing (outer shell) to the ride .. where the meat of it (the actual cake bit) is rather hollow. Of all four River Raft rides in SoCal ... I found Shipwreck Rapids the most elaborate, and better themed.
