The only reason Christie had the lapband surgery was for Presidential aspirations, because he knew he couldn't win on the national stage as a fatty. He could have done this surgery years ago, before becoming Governor, if he truly cared about his health. He did it solely to be more acceptable to the American public in order to win the White House. Mark my words. Lapband surgery or no, he's going to gain the weight back. Once he realizes his national political career is finished, he's going to put those pounds back on, probably faster than he did the first time.

I've been guilty of it myself. I have no respect for Mitch McConnell, but I've backed away from making fun of his appearance. Engaging in this kind of crap opens the door for President Big Ears, President Darkie, President Lisp. And, we've spent considerable amount of time here expounding about how no one can help their sexual orientation. No one can explain why a person is a straight, gay, accept them for what they are. I'd bet the vast majority of people who post here are either overweight, too thin, physically handicapped in some way, too short, too tall, hard of hearing, flat out unattractive, too nasally, have body odors you can't help, bald, incontinent, black, white, Asian, Mexican, missing body parts, on and on. Decent, rational, compassionate people shouldn't consider any of that fair game. His appearance should be left out of it.

I'm not doing it for political reasons, I want to get healthy. I don't think his weight, other than perhaps being a health issue, impairs his ability to form political opinions, or is relevant in any way. There have been many brilliant "fatties" of both genders through history. This schoolyard stuff doesn't get us anywhere, and is about at the level of talking about a female candidate's looks rather than her ideas. Please stop.

Making up Limbaugh-esque names isn't a good one in this particular case. (And if you must call him a name, please try to come up with one that's at least 40% less stupid than Gov. Krispy Kreme.)
