The reason we are defending Rep Delay is because we've seen the evidence against him, and aren't too impressed. We could be wrong, but I doubt it. If you'll recall, nobody leapt to the defense of Rep Cunningham like they did to the defense of Rep Delay; that's because the evidence against Rep Cunningham was solid. The bigger question will be if those on the left will finally back down and concede the point if delay is found innocent, or if the charges are dropped. I won't be holding my breath.

Delay only had to step down because the Republicans made a rule for themselves that if someone gets indicted they must step down. The democrats sure the hell don't have that rule. Delay actually fought democrats with a no holds barred style that pushed the limits but never broke any laws. If he was a democrat he would be their favorite guy.
