    Although it's true that a Democratic filibuster of the Bolten appointment was likely had the matter reached the floor of the Senate, let's all remember that it never left committee because of a Republican Senator was against the appointment, which when combined with the Democratic Senators on the committee resulted in a majority "no" vote.

    So, there was no obstruction in the Bolton case - he simply didn't have the support of the majority of the committee members that were considering the appointment.

    And again, you couldn't pay a higher compliment to someone these days than to call them an obstructionist to the Bush Administration.

    I've voted for both Republicans and Democrats in my day, probably about equal number or slightly more Republicans. But I'm glad we've got a Democratic congress now as a balance, because there was just no balance before, and Bush has been a huge disappointment (yes, I voted for him the first time).

    It won't be enacted into law unless President Bush signs the bill, or enough Republicans in both houses of Congress vote for it to overcome a veto.

    But, much like the Bolton failure-to-confirm situation, expect some people to blame it all on Democrats when they don't get their way.

    I've never heard anyone blame the Bolton failure-to-confirm situation all on Democrats. Sens Voinovich and Chaffee definitely deserve a fair amount of blame.
