This type of fraud is called illegal use of funds. Whether Desert Inn is careless in their bookkeeping or intentionally committing this fraud, it needs to stop. While Desert Inn says they will reverse charges, they are not catching their errors and correcting them on their own. They are waiting for the customer to catch and report the problem. This means they have terrible financial controls. Who knows how many people have not caught these charges?

Please let me know if you would like Detective Faulkner's direct phone number or if you would like me to pass your information on to him.

Don't let this hotel get away with these crimes, folks!

You can forgive awful service and bad accomodations, but the cc scam they have going is not acceptable. Good luck, ladies!

Here is a copy of the review:

We just got back from Disneyland and stayed at the Candy Cane Inn in Anaheim. The place has lovely foliage, but unfortunately, we discovered that the foliage attracts and is full of rats! Thankfully, we never saw any in the room, but I never felt comfortable after seeing all the rats on the balcony/walkway and tree across from our first room. We saw one on the balcony/walkway of the first floor and at least 4 in the tree just outside that room.

When we complained, the manager very obviously feigned surprise and allowed us to move to another room that was not so close to a tree and knocked $10 off our nightly rate, but I felt disgusting the rest of the time I was there. The room we moved to was supposedly an "upgraded" room, which I guess just meant it was farther from the street, since it was older, not as nice/updated, and had a smaller bathroom.

One word to sum up our experience: "yuck!"

JOY >>I stayed there a week last year. I would have die if I seen rats running around.

Actually for my November trip I am probably staying off property just have to decide where. All of your trip reports really help! I will be alone this trip, no grandkids, so am guying to try the "economical" route. My brother stayed at the Anaheim Plaza in May and had good luck...just need a bed this trip, so may check their prices out.

It just seems worth the little extra $ to stay there, especially with 2 little kids. Besides, my 3 yearold daughter simply thinks there is no other place to stay than the GCH!

When I come with family and am staying a week or so - I stay on property. However, there are some awesome off-sight motels and hotels in the area.

We were stuck here because it was the best price at the last minute during the 50th season.

When I take the grandkids we need lots extra money to stay longer.

There are good place off sight. I'm sure Embassy suite and others a little farther away aren't bad. I think most of those across the street - if it wasn't for location - no one would be there.

Too bad - but LP sure helps me know what's happening and I so appreciate this forum.

I am a terrified person of mice or rats, so nice or super nice - they won't see me.

A few months someone wrote a review that a rat feel through the roof in their room at the Candy Cane Inn. I would have had a heart attack and died right on the spot.
