As far as rats go, we had rats BAD in Garden Grove (where I grew up, 10 min from Disneyland). They lived in the ivy that lined the fence surrounding our house, and they often got up onto our roof and even into our attic. NASTY!!!! They were ENORMOUS. When we first moved there, I was about 5, and I woke my mom up one morning to say, "Mama, there's a possum drinking out of our dog's dish" (outside). My mom, "A POSSUM?" That was our first enounter with one of those lovely creatures. LOL
