It's like the fake furor over the "lipstick on a pig" remark. Anyone with a brain knows Obama was NOT talking about Palin, but he gets accused of attacking her gender. Such bullschlitz, especially when McCain himself used the phrase talking about Clinton. But oh no, you can't unring that bell and the Republicans know it. Absolutely criminal.

Evidently, liberals are very good at distorting the words of conservatives, but whine like babies when it happens to them.
Originally Posted By Mr X ***Sen Obama distorted Sen McCain's statement about staying in Iraq for 100 years.*** How do you distort a statement of fact. McCain clearly says "maybe 100" in response to the question asking if we might be there for 50 years. As to the Palin stuff, no distortions there except possibly on the book banning...but I've not seen any statement from the Obama campaign on that particular issue so unless you can show me one... Wrong, and wrong.

That's just flat out lying, and they're being called on it. As to creationism, she's actually said she favors teaching it in the schools - so no misrepresentation there - although I'm glad to see you seem to think it's a problem. On abortion, are you asserting that her position is something other than what she has publicly stated - no exceptions for rape or incest? On pork - are you asserting that she didn't appropriate the funds for the 'bridge to nowhere' for other uses? Or that she sought tens of millions of dollars in earmarks for her tiny little burg? I didn't think so. The jury's out on the book banning thing - we'll see soon enough. With McCain - he said he could see us in iraq for the next hundred years, and to elaborate used korea and germany as examples. Where's the distortion? At some point your statements need to have actual content to back them up for them to have credibility. And you probably think that's an unfair and unreasonable expectation.

Book Banning: Sarah Palin never banned any book. Some of the books on the widely circulated "Palin Hit List" weren't even written at the time. Creationism: Sarah Palin never pushed for creationism in school. She said" it has no place in the cirriculum" But she did say that students should be allowed to debate both side iin class. (which I agree with). Abortion: I haven't heard any misrepresent her views which are no abortion unless the life of the mother is in danger. A lot don't like her view, but I haven't seen aany lies about it. Pork: She is the Queen of Pork. The most money per capita in the history of the country. Distort the 100 years: Obama DIDN"T distort it. McCain said it. Obama capitolized on an unfortunate statement. And it wasn't a misstatement either, like Obama's "my muslim faith" comment.
