What happens is we begin to avoid places with bad behavior - bad elements etc.... i.e. haven't been to Great America here ( 6 Flags ) in over 10 years due to 2 horrendous issues 2 times in a row, and knowing a local police chief in a burb near Gurnee..it hasn't gotten any better. I hope I never have to look back at WDW.... it is still light years ahead of many places I used to frequent...but no longer do -- the part of society I see that has denigrated the most in my opion and 50+ years of observing - is due to a very prevalent.....me first, I'm entitled attitude...and it crosses all social strata

Having been born, raised, moved to the midwest as an adult for three years, and now living back HOME in the SOUTH, there WERE times when things were far worse here than in the rest of the country. But honestly, I think especially in URBAN areas, that time has MOSTLY passed. It is certianly NOT like Hollywood makes it out to be.

They are made to say the second one when they get too much "Me first" going. By the way, what DID ever happen to just being nice? People USED to let you in on the freeway. People USED to check on you if you didn't come out of your house after a day or so. People USED to bring over a pie or maybe offer to take your kids for an evening. I guess those days are simply gone forever.

Forty years ago it was considered more or less acceptable for a man to slap his wife around a bit as long as he didn't put her in the hospital. Even people who disapproved of such behavior still thought it was a private matter and not something the police should be involved with.> Regardless of what was "acceptable" in private. At Least back then, people still were very big on not being "rude" in public.

The parents were absorbed in their conversations and the little girls they had with them (there were 4) were just running around the place like it was their backyard. They screamed at the tops of their lungs, played tag around the tables, ran in and out of the restrooms, and just about knocked other diners down while running. It was very obnoxious, but the parents were totally ignoring all of it. When they all had to leave; one of the mothers tried to coax the girls to go, but she was in way over her head and they just ignored her. Then, the fathers tried. Their tactic was to tell the girls they would leave them at the restaurant, to which the girls replied that they would love to sleep over under the tables. So, obviously there is no kind of accountability there, and I think that's where things have gotten worse in the last several years. Yes, people were rude before, but generally they behaved in public, and especially with children. In that same restaurant I also see kids on those wheely shoes and nobody manages them either. Although the last time I saw that, one of the kids did a face plant onto the floor and started crying. I couldn't help but laugh...yeah, mean, I know, but it was funny. Especially since the kids were disruptive with those skates.
