Being out of the proverbial loop, I'll stake my positions against Chaney's any day of the week. I was critical of the poor counter-narcotics program that essentially allowed the Taliban to flood the world with cheap heroin and make a ton of $$$$. I was against diverting troops in the hunt for Osama in the foolhearty attack on Iraq. I was dubious of Bush's rational for going to war, especially the Niger yellowcake charge. I was with Gen. Shinseki when he estimated that "several hundred thousand" would be needed to occupy Iraq. I KNEW Rummy was a myoptic old fool. I belived disbanding the Iraq Army was foolish. I was sure that only military force would NOT bring together the Iraq factions. I knew that al Qaeda and the foreign jihadists weren't the driving force in the insurgency. I felt that the elections were a sham that only reinforced the factional divide and would NOT create a cohesive popular government. I realized Iraq had devolved into a civil war after the attack on the Shia's Golden Mosque. So yeah, Dougie, I know more of what's going on on the ground than Cheney. It's not Monday Morning QB, it's looking critically at what Cheney and this Admin. said and seeing with clear eyes instead of neocon wishfull thinking.

Once again, Cheney proves that he's more effective than Speaker Pelosi. ;-)
