Anyway, I would definitely argue that "millions" of people get the charm of the show. It may have been that way in the past, but not really anymore. If it was still as charming as you say, every show would be packed. That hasn't been my experience.

But I don't agree with your assessment on that, at all.

I look back at some of Disney's musical works from Kitchen Caberat to the present .... I just don't see ANY memorable works that are as great as the Sherman Brothers.

Until Disney can produce a show with songs that are just as good as the original 1963 show .... they best leave the original alone.

Kitchen Kaberet was a GREAT show. I'd rather see that than the Tiki Room.

There was nothing memorable about those tunes at all. First or second show.

Disney hit a gold mine with the very talented Sherman Bros. They haven't had anything as good since them! For Disney theme park attractions that is.

Now, of course, Ashman and Menken are another story from their animated film works ... But with the loss of one them, that era is gone.

Disney would have to hire the best talent out there to create a replacement show for 'tiki room'. Unfortunately .. they would hire someone mediocre .. and give us a mediocre show. (Cough WDW-TDL shows - cough)

If someone could create music as good as the "Soarin'" theme or "Fantasmic" that would be nice. But would they spend the money on the RIGHT talent? I'm rather pessimistic on this.

I've seen more than a few fans here on this very forum talk about "Veggie Veggie Fruit Fruit" in a very nostalgic way, so to say the songs were not memorable is incorrect.

    Well ...
    LOL
it's not incorrect when I tell you of MY experience (even though it does not count) that I didn't leave the Land Pavilion with a memory of the songs.

I even remember "O'Canada" (met the composer of the song through the NFFC :) .. and the original "Imagination" song to Journey Into Imagination.
Sadly ... I forgot the songs in Kitchen Kaberet the moment I left the theater. :(

If you can discount my experience with crowds or lack thereof in the Tiki Room, I can discount your experience remembering Kitchen Kabaret. It only takes a second to do a Google on KK and see that plenty of have just as much fondness for that show as you do for the Tiki Room.

If you think Tiki Room sucks .. ;) that's okay with me. It's when we start throwing around ... "PEOPLE don't like this .. PEOPLE don't like that" thing.

When I COLLECTIVELY pull my memories, general info, personal experience, etc .. into a "whole" .... I have NEVER seen the Tiki room as something that has become passé. Far from it. From my EDUCATED perspective, that is.
