Is your new name official (on your driver's license, passport, credit cards, whatever)? It's official, but I don't think it's supposed to be. I need to bust out my birth certificate again, I don't think it's right....LOL!!

When I was getting married I told the church secretary (who makes out the wedding certificate, not the licence, the certificate signed by the offical and the witnesses and stuff) that I had a middle name, even though there isn't one on my birth certificate. When I wen to to go change my last name with the California DMV the person at the counter was nice and added my "new" middle name on my licence when changing my last name. Social Security wouldn't however. THEN about 9 months later when I lost my wallet with my Social Security Card in it (and THAT was a stupid thing to do--keep your SSI card in your wallet) and simply asked for a new card the new one came with my new middle name. I didn't say anything to them. I'm guessing they checked with the DMV? BTW my added middle name is Ellen, my mother's middle name. And, it's hard to remember to use it!
