I still enjoy the dioramas (dinoramas?). Yes, it'd be nice to have them updated, but I'm not sure I trust today's Disney to produce anything as good. Sad, isn't it?

That cheesy but awesome soundtrack off Mysterious Island for the dinosaurs, yes that's a little hokey, but the whole thing is still one of my favorite parts of the park. Hope they never, ever pull the plug on it all.

Here's the thing: would any other amusement park in the world give a *leisurely* visit through a fantastic environment like that? A non-scary (unless you're 3 years old) trip through dinosaur country? Knott's tried but did it on the cheap-fast-and-dirty. Universal's, while impressive, is about 15 minutes too short, and emphasizes cheap scares over real marvel. Disneyland rules. Still, even this many years later.

Don't give them any ideas about putting Marvel stuff into the dioramas. That's just a bad idea... : )

So in 50 years I will be noticing that the CarsLand Mnt is not topographically accurate and I will be standing in line at CityHall to remark.

I cant think of any other place in Disneyland that has remained unchanged the way that the dioramas have. It takes me back like no other place in Disneyland and I look forward to it, as laughably out of place and ridiculously outdated as it is, every time I go.

Like I said, it must not cost very much to keep it going.

BTW - there are parks in Germany that would also add such detail. But I agree, I do not trust Disney to tamper with it anymore, so preservation is good.

It probably doesn't, however following your argument "the sharp pencil boys" could save money by cutting the maintenance budget and letting it fall into disrepair like they've allowed other things to do over the years.

And yet, up to 2800 guests per hour roll by those tableaus.

But the concept is still great and they should not remove it. Perhaps simply update the creatures themselves and some of the other special effects.

How many specifically because they want to see the dinosaurs? I'm guessing less than half.

    I agree.
