However there is a desire at DAK to get him fixed. Goodwill counts for a lot in these instances. The current park VP is very keen to get him fixed.<<<<<

    Soooo...when does work begin? :D

And will they actually close EE with nothing else in the park to soak it up? I'd hope that shows that they need a expansion...

AK without Everest... IOA with WWOHP... Probably a BIG drop in attendance for AK.

DAK managed to survive almost 10 years without EE, so what's the big deal with closing it down now?

So why did millions of people go to the park before EE?

I don't buy that at all. And if so, it's their loss.

DAK isn't a 'ride park' ... it just isn't ... and that's what makes it great. It is more akin to EPCOT ... a place where you take the whole into account more than how many E-Tix you can ride in a day.

If people don't like animals, amazing vistas and some kewl attractions, then they shouldn't go ... they should go ride Space Mountain 1975 a few dozen times instead.

It was there, and it was Disney.

Basically why we go to WDW, even now...

In fact, DAK and Epcot are the reasons to go to WDW (and because I can see the real thing of 40% of Epcot within a few hours travel, that isn't even that huge a draw anymore).

I'm not saying I don't enjoy Animal Kingdom, I do.

The fact remains that many people consider it a half day park. Couple that with the figures that attendance jumped nearly a million people at AK in the first year of EE existence. That is an extra 3,000 average per day! If you figure the average guest spends $50 (probably right including discounted tickets, food, etc...) that is a potential $50 million dollar hit.
