Along with the shows they have several rides and some very popular entertainment.
The SEa Worlds in Orlando and San Diego as well as the Busch garden park in Tampa are actually very well kept with lots to do.

I agree. Besides, the ship has to sail to a "foreign" port at some point in its cruise. That includes cruises to Alaska or Hawaii.

As noted above, the SeaWorld park in San Diego is very nice. It also has a lot of room to expand, and has a spectacular ocean front setting.

I realty enjoyed it as an alternate to Disneyland. That, and Busch Gardens in Van Nuys.

Other SoCal attractions I used to like: Japanese Village and Deer Park, Busch Gardens, Movieland, and even Jungleland in the Valley (loooooong gone). Never got to Nu-Pike in Long Beach, Pacific Ocean Park, or Lion Country Safari.

I know the majority of the larger mammals were moved to Sea World San Diego. Some of the aquatic smaller animals were distributed among some of the other Anhueser owned parks.

I believe the Orcas still live in San Diego as well as the pilot whale from Marineland

-Maybe I'm off my rocker but I think I would like Marine World now, probably more than ever. 5 Years ago when I last went the place still had practically ALL animal attractions plus all the new coasters and Six Flags carny rides. More to do.

And thus endeth the Thousand Oaks CA history lesson for the day.

Marineland, Marineworld never had such rides.

I assume SW is making profit, so if Disney buys them, it'll make money.
Can they increase attendance with working with the cruise line - sure, but I don't think it'll be that much.
Figure optimistically 3000 extra guests per week = 156,000 more guests per year.
That isn't much, and I'm guessing on the high side.

    Yes, indeed.

To see the location on Google Earth, just type in a search for "Terranea Resort, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA." You will find the cleared site, and a remnant of the entrance complex.
