Fri 10/10/2008 1:39p As far as I know the Marineland site is empty ... a few years back I went to an Oscar Party as a CBS daytime producer's house and it overlooked the site or at least that's what he said to the dude who plays Stefano on Days (James Mascolo?) and myself. "

a couple of the buildings were saved when marineland was demolished. If i remember correctly the builders could not get permits for a couple buildings they wanted close to the cliff area. They then decided to keep one or two of th eold ones since those were already built and permitted.

Part of the land turned into a golf course if i remember correctly and another portion was suppose to be condos or something like that. not sure if those were built

    I just don't get it.

Talk about a theme shoe-horned into an existing building.

I thought you said you DIDN'T get it? That sounds exactly right to me.

I guess we should be happy it wasn't shoehorned into Frontierland as "Blue Sky Conestoga Wagon".

I doesn't. But it is in a pre-existing themed building and people have complained that DCA lacks storytelling elements that are the hallmarks of Disney parks. So there you go: a detailed and well themed preview center.

And if that wasn't enough, the catch phrase "It's just a dream away" was thrown in to get some more use of the word "dream", since they couldn't find a way to work in "fantasy," "magic," or "wonder."

Exactly. Come on Disney, don't spend so much on the preview - spend it on the rides itself! Or spend it on fixing the monorail, or maintenance or something. No need to waste money theming the displays.

Come to think of it, Pixie Grotto is an even worse name than Blue Sky Cellar. I can see a lot of stymied parents trying to explain what grotto means, and that it's not as bad as it sounds.

    It makes perfect sense, actually.

I mean, how do you even THINK those creative types DREAM UP all their crazy ideas unless they first all get soused up on a few bottles of vintage (or even not so vintage) cabernet beforehand??
