I always find it fun to strike up a conversation with other guests in line too.>> Agreed on both counts. When I see folks Twittering while in a 15-minute line for PoC, I truly want to take their toy away and stomp on it. Of course, I also have major issues with the idiots that feel the need to record entire attractions and even pyro shows instead of actually experiencing them.

When I went by the Jungle Cruise around 8pm Monday the stand by wait was 100 minutes. 100 minutes! If you are saying I can have the choice of standing in line for 100 minutes without entertainment or with entertainment...well...I choose WITH entertainment. Call me dumb. (Actually, I'd be dumb to stand for 100 minutes for ANY attraction.) I haven't stood more than 30 minutes for any attraction in at least 15 years. I'm not going to race back to Soarin' and I'll be darned if I'm waiting for it so....I haven't been on it yet. And, funny thing...I'm surviving without it.

This 'expansion' is actually probably less of one than the 1992 opening of the Splash Montain complex. <<Fastpass isn't the cure all and there will always be a standby line...unless they go to a reservation only system (egads). I'm not saying the 100-minute JC line wasn't legit because I wasn't there ... but often times well, the times are off. I doubt I'd ever wait for anything 100 minutes in the USA. I steeled myself to the possibility I'd be doing so when I was in Tokyo a few months back, but between getting there early, crowds not being as bad as expected and using FP the right way, I never waited more than 35 minutes for anything in four days (that wait, btw, was indeed for the JC!) I would have waited that long for many things, mostly at TDS. But it just wasn't necessary. I think many folks wait needlessly at WDW because they decide they have to ride something at a certain time ... or they've got kids who can't stay up late ... or they have meal ressies they made six months in advance etc ... People can often do nine attractions (to use that key number) in the last 2-3 hours of the day without waiting for anything, but they set themselves up for disaster by getting there at opening and starting a pattern of what they just must see then and now.

Waiting especially torturous for me at Disney Parks because I've experienced everything at least a half dozen times in the various versions around globe. I don't visit often, but when I do I do my best to go when the parks are the least busy to avoid crowds and the long waits. Sorry, but I guess I'm one of those people who sincerely appreciates the added benefits of Fastpass and entertaining and/or interactive queues.

The whole time all I can think is, "Oh my god, I'm never getting out of this line" and the wait is so awful for me that no matter how great the ride is, it's very hard to ever make waiting worth it. If you add any heat from the sun to this mixture and I'll blow a gasket.

My daughter is so impatient she describes walk ons with zero wait to be "not too bad" of a wait.

Would I like to have seen them plus something that needs it first- sure...but bashing this seems to make no sense. I am though concerned about upkeep as some of the maniacs that are allowed to run loose there, while so called parents look the other way will trash much of this - soon. I can see them standing on the organ kets - climbing the tombstones (low fences don't matter) - etc
Originally Posted By EPCOT Explorer >>>And the mix of humor and sccariness is what the mansion IS about is it not ?<<< Right. But there's a DEVIDE for that. You go from the Claude Coats part of the Mansion to the Marc Davis part, and the gags get sillier, funnier, and less grim and foreboding. Shoving this onto the front of the attraction is a thematic disjunction. And I don't see any hate here...That's a strong word for something Disney...
