I sure wish DCA's problems were similar to, or didn't extend much beyond those of DisneySea's.

This is such an urban myth. OLC sells more discount tickets than any other Disney resort. Granted it has not needed to use a "2fer" promotion as of yet, but they sell a great deal of MKC, participant (all sponsors have access to employee deals) and group discount tickets. The actual percentage of people buying full-price 1 day tickets is considerably lower than at WDW for example (although naturally they sell more multi-day tickets).

Lee, I'd be very interested if you could share with us how much the MKC discount is, and what the typical regional discounts they offer are. For example, the statement "OLC sells more discount tickets than any other Disney resort" could have little meaning if the MKC discount is only 10%.

What I personally would find to be the most interesting figure is that all things considered, what is the average gate revenue per guest. That is, take the total gate revenue for the year and divide it by turnstile clicks (as measured by industry standard). How would this number compare to DLR or WDW? I would imagine that at the US parks, the MainGate passes for CMs and the relatively inexpensive and popular AP programs have a huge affect on this number. It also would not surprise me if the effect was large enough to overcome the discounting you talk about at TDR, but of course I don't have access to the actual numbers. Can you shed any light on this?
