What makes it anti-social? If anything, it's probably a little too pro-social.

"Its something 99.9% of guests will have no experience with at all. Most of the ones who do are either a) doing something inappropriate and offensive to others or b) are being negatively impacted by the people doing it."

Or C) aren't doing anything offensive to others but a get a kick out of the idea that people would flash the camera on Splash Mountain. I think the majority of people fall into this category.

I would say, however, that a male at a middle school is a predator, while a group of twenty-somethings on Splash Mountain are people having a good time who exhibit poor judgment. I'm not excusing it, and I think your post is a good reminder that Disneyland is a public place where people ought to respect others. Personally, if my kids and I are coming off of Splash Mountain and we saw something like that, my wife and I would laugh and we'd explain it as best we could to our kids. I wouldn't be that bothered. But, I don't think it's fair to expect everyone to respond like I would.

And you couldn't be more right about the cultural double-standard regarding male/female nudity. This isn't World Events, so I won't digress here, but suffice it to say it's just wrong on so many levels.

Disneyland is for everyone. You don't need a kid to get in. I see a ton of childless couples and teenagers there having a good time just like everyone else.

I'm not saying that people should go around with their junk hanging out, men and women. But if someone decided to be mischievous and flash their boobs on Splash Mountain, I just don't feel outraged at that. It's a funny thing, like mooning someone, that most people don't really care about. I'm glad people would flash their boobs on Splash instead of mooning because mooning the camera would be dangerous.

And here's the kicker, even at the height of the Flash Mountain phenomenon, there weren't that many people doing it. There aren't that many people interested in being the girl from Girls Gone Wild. And when it does happen, ignoring it or having a cheap laugh is usually the best way to handle it.

I do agree that there is a double standard when it comes to men and women baring their chests, and I think it's okay for both to go topless where ever people go topless.

But we're not going to change the world getting people to relax about "Flash Mountain." The truth is, it's going to really bother some people. We're not talking about a woman breastfeeding in public and being condemned for it. Is it really too much to ask people to keep their shirts down at Disneyland?

You can ask, but those who are going to do it are going to do it anyway.

And I'm sure I read in an article (Miceage?) that although they'll appear on the preview screen now, the clerks at the photo shop will be checking for the flash stuff and will not allow those photos to be purchased.

We usually buy one Splash Mountain photo per Disneyland trip and always try and do something unique to make it fun and different. No more "strangling" though. Hee hee... ;-)

I wouldn't worry too much about my kid seeing a rouge boob at Disneyland. I mean my parents undressed in front of me all the time and my mom still uses the bathroom with the door open. Of course they're hippies who still wear tie-dye. The point is, I already knew what a boob was when I was a kid and I don't think it would have traumatized me at Disneyland. NO I don't think it's appropriate and I think it's distasteful but people are going to do what they're going to do.

Some of you may say, "oh yeah, well Disney would draw the line at [xx]", but how could they? Where is that fine line in the sand?

Personally I feel Disneyland is a family atmosphere and that needs to be maintained. Flashing your boobs - for whatever reason - is not something that should be taking place in Disneyland. As soon as that becomes acceptable, we've allowed society to take Disneyland in a very bad direction.

Really? I've kissed my spouse in dark rides lots of times. Always in Peter Pan (personal tradition) and often on others, usually if we're the only ones in the vehicle, or in the back. Never gotten chastised for it; my guess is you got an over-zealous CM.
