I just believe DLR tickles me more than WDW which sores me more often than thrilling me.

Ilove DL and grew up on it, and although I view my trips to DL as a full blown vacation, I never spend 7 - 10 days in JUST DL and CA. Ever. There is lots to do in Southern California ( lived there for a while) - but most travellers would find it easier to stay on site for 7 days at WDW than DL. Doesn't make it right or wrong, but does make it so.

As for the parade, c'mon guys, this is business. Go to the Vero beach resort - who are the majority of visitors there- New Yorkers and New Jersian's ( and a smattering of people from Conneticut) -and me from the Midwest --
WDW is an East Coast resort - there is no denying that. It can be driven, just like it can from Chicago, without spending 3 days to do it.

Now that being said, it is DL's 50th and special tribute should go to DL first and foremost, but again no ethics on any side here. I have no love lost for Macy's either as they recently purchased Marshall Field's including the flagship store on Main Street and the plan is to change the name to macy's. Quite the uproar here from loyal Field's shoppers, but in the end Macy's wins because they don;t give a damn wat we think here, it is their show

Also there is 99 holes of golf, as Golf Digest named The WDW Resort one of the top 100 golf resorts in the world.

Never been to DLR, would like to go one day.

Disney has had limited success in marketing DLR as a resort destination, at least compared to WDW. WDW is an easier sell: its closer to most people, its bigger (hence, they will probably stay longer and spend more money), its more immersive than DLR, etc.

I can understand that very well, just as Southern California doesn't attract everyone either.....I'm an avid golfer yet only play at WDW once in a while ( although I know those who go and do play 18 a day , every day) - -- but the opportunity for more vacation type distractions, on the grounds, is undeniably there at WDW, whether or not each individual chooses to partake.

When I was younger- Southern California was THE travel destination. Why? because there were so many cool places and things to do there, not because it was all beautiful or fit what each person wanted. There were plenty of very BAD places, yet people looked past them to see the good things they wanted. Kind of the same phenomenon with WDW - just such a large vacation spot ( for being all one place) - that the sheer size and amount of offerings will always attract more people.

so more attractive to you, I or the more discriminating Disney fan, probably not - as inch for inch I like DL ( have not been to TDL to compare) - but for a large family who wants a little of everything - WDW is going to be the choice. May not make it right, but does make it so.

It never ceases to amaze me how personal some folks take it if your likes and dislikes are different from theirs. I personally love that there are people that love parks other than WDW.

I never had the desire to go to TDL till I came to this site and read TDLFAN's reviews and saw his pics. I now hope to go in the next 3-5 years sooner if I can swing it. There isn't a Disney park that doesn't have something to offer me-in my opinion.

I can make a full vacation either place. Granted I won't spend all my time on property at DLR but I'll base out of it. The only time I didn't leave property at WDW was the few times I went without renting a car and one of those times I got a taxi off site.

Anyway count me as someone that is greatful for everyone that comes here and shares their experience and love for all the different parks. :)
