Nah. I knew just as much about the WDW of 1989 back in 1989 as I do the WDW of 2009 in 2009. <<

Yes. Comfort is a major factor for some of us folks in the real world when we travel. We don't pay hundreds a night (and thousands on a trip) to be uncomfortable because a company is trying to look good on its bottom line.

I can understand that it may not bother you, but that means nothing. It's the concept as a whole and what it means to everyone.

    Dumb move on Disney's part.

<<Seriously. If this makes you sad, I pray for you.>>

Sad? Only in that it reminds yet again that TWDC is just a typical (evil?)American corporation running things for maximum profit only (in the most cutthroat manner possible ... hey why don't we force our daytime folks to slip a 'subliminal' ad for WDW's Buy 4 Get 3 Free deal into a kid dying of cancer storyline) while cloaking it all in pixie dust and DISNEY MAGIC and the Legacy of the amazing men and women that made the company a beacon of quality and hope for people the world over.

And please save your prayers, I'd much rather have a check or cash.

    ~So I can a Priceline a 4-star hotel for $50 a night and get all the AC I want?~

So, if Disney is thinking to set the temperatures of the all the rooms the same, they are absolutely ignoring the science at work. That's just a fact.>>

    Great point.

People also don't realize how quickly mold grows in wonderful Florida. And that stuff is very bad news.

But hey, it's not like Disney is doing this to harm guests. Or take away their comfort. It's all about environmentality.

In stall geothermal heating and cooling, expand monorail and people movers service to decrease dependency on roads and diesel buses.

Walt would invest in the infrastructure necessary to keep the "World" going. I'm thinking this is all coming about with the advent of all those DVCs, resorts and hotels, the power demand on property has grown tremendously. As far as I know there has been no expansion to the WDW power grid, at least I have not read about any expansion to their power grid. What seems apparent to me is that Disney would much rather take away creature comforts, example lighting starting with the removal of all incandescent bulbs on property. WDW has high tech means of monitoring resort room temps in place for years. I guess it was only a matter of time before Disney uped the anti and began messing with guest's room temps as well ( another creature comfort ).

Again I think this all has to do with Disney not wanting to expand their power grid necessary to support all those parks, transportation, resorts, hotels and DVCs. Its far easier and cheaper to take away creature comforts under the guise of "Conservation" rather than invest the infrastructure and often expensive High Tech means to dramatically reduce power consumption. I really view Disney's decision as a knee jerk reaction with a short sighted solution which is unheard of and unacceptable in the Hotel Industry.

Bingo. With heavy emphasis on the "cheaper" part.

If they're going to restrict how low I can set my room temperature, then they should also heavily discount the room. But of course, that will never happen.

Night sweats... just another part of the Disney Magicâ„¢!

I never even thought about the DVC 'owners' in this.

It would be like Uncle Sam (or just the Blackwater private SS we have) coming into your home and putting a locking control on your thermostat.

I'd love to see how this one's gonna go over.
