There are many people that would love to try one, including me! Although I don't usually use any assistance at DL, if Segways were allowed you can bet I would use my emphysema/COPD as an excuse to ride one. That is just what DL needs... dozens of inexperienced riders like myself taking the Segway for a joyride through crowded Disneyland!

They still have Segway tours you can take at EPCOT and at Fort Wilderness. Not free, but lots of fun. We've taken the 'Around the World at EPCOT' and 'Wilderness Back Trail Adventure' tours. We also took the tour they used to have at DCA before all the construction walls put an end to them. With the new, longer DCA hours now, I wonder if that tour will ever re-surface again. Tooling around on a Segway (even in the turtle mode Disney allows on their tours) is a lot of fun. I cannot imagine having to navigate a busy Disney park on one, though.

Granted, I never really visited Innoventions with any particular regularity, but I think I managed to get in there at least once every 6 months. I believe the space that was used for the test rides was converted into the theater for Asimo (which I have still somehow never seen).

And since Disney controls it, they can ensure that they aren't available for rental anywhere. It's a win for Disney, since they can just make it so darn inconvenient that it's like it doesn't even exist, yet technically the option is there
