I did like The World's Greatest Athlete though.

I like Ugly Dachshund, Million dollar Duck, Summer Magic, Swiss Family robinson, Never a Dull Moment, That Darn Cat (the original), all those Kurt Russel Movies, Black Cauldron & Return to Oz.

I find SuperDad, Robin Crusoe, & Boatniks watchable, but not great.

But I love Babes in Toyland! I recently watched it for the first time in a long time & was utterly charmed once again. I admit that Annette isn't the world's greatest actress, but I love almost all the songs & the stagey, play-like quality of the film.

And I love pretty much everything with Dean Jones.

I'll admit I don't care for Unidentified Flying Oddball, Bon Voyage or the Herbie sequels. Or Apple Dumpling Gang Rides Again. But the Freaky Friday remake is worse than any of those. And the worst of the worst is The Big Green, IMHO.

And here I'll disagree. I think the remake is MUCH better than the original. My wife and I sat down to watch the original after the remake came out, and we couldn't believe how ugly and dated the film was. A big disappointment for what I always remembered as being a great film.

It's too easy to rip apart many of Disney's live-action movies (like Flubber - YEESH).

So my vote for an awaful movie goes to Oliver and Co. The whole movie just seems...lazy. And the artwork is unappealing. I like Bette Midler's big number, but that's hardly helps.

And if it weren't for the great bear-attack scene, I'd lump The Fox and the Hound in there too.

Truth is, there are some of us who would rather do the worst chores around the house, than have to sit through some of these awful films.

Well...the title. "Disney movies you can't stand" is all about the negative, i.e. what you don't like.

Even if I agreed with every single post in it, the goal of the topic is still to be negative.

I didn't say I liked every Disney movie ever, or that you must like every Disney movie ever, or even that we must agree on the films we like. I said the goal of this topic is to be negative & I stand by my statement.

And, for the record, I like Oliver, Snow White & Fox and the Hound, too.

I'm not too keen either on negative topics about something you love at a message board about an interest of yours, like "What's your least favorite episode?" or "Which characters do you hate?" "Who was the worst actor?", etc.

They can create interesting discussion and be informative, but if you come to the board for upbeat fun it's just disheartening to see that kind of topic at first, lol.

    I'm a male Pollyanna. :p

I think it's only truly "negative" if you post the same topic every week bashing Eisner or DCA, or something like that. Stating that you don't like the Boatniks once every three years doesn't seem negative to me.

Speaking of which, The Boatniks has been a punchline for me and my best friend for over a decade now.

I call him up and say, excitedly, "I just saw a GREAT movie."

    He replies, breathlessly, "The Boatniks???"

    No respect whatsoever.

Man, I'm glad someone else said that. I understand the historical significance of 'Snow White' but man, it is a slow moving movie.

    More live action stinkers...

    'The Cat From Outer Space'

    'Pete's Dragon'

    'The Devil and Max Devlin'

    'Condorman'

Okay, it's not my favorite, but in the last few years I have appreciated it even more for the fact that it has, to me, flawless pacing. There's the perfect balance between the Snow White/dwarves and the Queen/Witch scenes, and for me it never stops or slows...it's the perfect pacing.

And this comin' from a guy with a short attention span thanks to his watching-newscasts-twice-as-fast-as-normal job, lol.

    (Snow White "slow"...wow...)
