I admit that Annette isn't the world's greatest actress, but I love almost all the songs & the stagey, play-like quality of the film. And I love pretty much everything with Dean Jones. I'll admit I don't care for Unidentified Flying Oddball, Bon Voyage or the Herbie sequels. Or Apple Dumpling Gang Rides Again. But the Freaky Friday remake is worse than any of those. And the worst of the worst is The Big Green, IMHO. My wife and I sat down to watch the original after the remake came out, and we couldn't believe how ugly and dated the film was. A big disappointment for what I always remembered as being a great film. It's too easy to rip apart many of Disney's live-action movies (like Flubber - YEESH). So my vote for an awaful movie goes to Oliver and Co. The whole movie just seems...lazy. And the artwork is unappealing. I like Bette Midler's big number, but that's hardly helps. And if it weren't for the great bear-attack scene, I'd lump The Fox and the Hound in there too.
