But I have no idea whether I know anyone who still has a VHS recorder... Maybe it was more well known in other European countries, but while I have seen lots of Disney films on TV as a kid in the 70s and 80s, I have no memory of having ever seen Song of the South.

PAL issues... But now I figured out that at amazon.uk they sell the English version (don't really want to see it dubbed...) on VHS for a few pounds. It's not offensive if you know your history and historiography.
