As is ride upkeep. As is entertainment renewal. I'm sorry, but these aren't things that these things should be anything but stellar.

There is a reason The Grand Floridian is only a 3 star.

Very remarkable. I use to stay at the Polynesian at least once a year if not more. 2005 was my last time too Dshyates. Not shortly thereafter I stopped including WDW as a destination all together. If I do poke my head in to check something out, it will be arriving from the Portofino.

That's just not how these things go. So ... we move back to issues like monorails falling apart or that idea that Satan proposed ... FP ... anyone want to talk about refillable mugs?

When they are 100% factual ( and few things anywhere ever are)- then I process a more serious reflection. Meanwhile with stock @ $40/share and suddenly on many people's buy lists..and my family having had a great time last trip ( albeit a short one) - I'll use those as starting points to color my opinions. e.g. decision to stop monorails during EMH when ferry does not run-- bad decision or poorly thought out, or both. Easy call as is is an objective series of events. e.g. value/quality of HM queue - totally subjective

I don't know, but I believe the tone is always a sign of the times. When things are announced or there is a D23 expo, it seems to me that sentiment is positive. In times where the wrong people are promoted, loss leaders are breaking down (Splash/Monorail), time is marching on without additions in many areas of the resort, prices rising, well, maybe it explains the negative tone. I think everyone is happy you had a good trip. It should be good. Real issues in our real lives should add a counter weight to what we make of any vacation time. That is different then seeking out an internet discussion where folks are speaking towards something so specific as these parks, where everything will be examined. I might have a good trip to DL, but that doesn't mean that it is now the trump card on how trips to DL are. I was having GREAT trips to DL in 2002 when everyone was carrying on about DL like they do in 2011 about WDW. That didn't cause me to think the majority was just out to lunch, and I was magically the baseline. Peoples positive or negative reviews aren't absolute they are simply part of a trend in the expectations of Disney and Disney's standards. When there are more negative attitudes it should speak towards a trend that Disney is disappointing more than in the past. If it is positive such as DL lately, then it should reflect a trend that Disney is working harder than in the past.
