Originally Posted By TP2000 >>"And I spend that much just on my APs. I also buy food and merchandise on every trip."<< Okay. And that much money entitles you to admission to the park, and then the food and merchandise items you bought. Spending money for goods and services that Disneyland will sell to anyone doesn't mean you get an extra vote in anything. It just means you get the goods and services you purchase from said theme park. That's where the AP's get their reputation for feeling entitled, you see?

Yes, when I was a teen at McDonalds, I hated asking "would you like frees with that" and "please come again", and maybe some cast get tired of it, but it just seems like, at DL and WDW, being told "have a magical day" just belongs, and they say it like they mean it, and almost always, they really do want you to have the best time you can *(with few exceptions, no place is perfect). When I'm told "Have a magical day", I know exactly where I am, or where I'm trying to get to, and it's the best place to be. Of course, the cynical part of me knows that the staff are told they have to say it, that their performance is monitored by phantom guests and recorded telephone calls, etc etc. I'm not naive. But I think it reflects the corporate culture that Disney does try to establish better than anywhere else - make sure each and every guest has the best time possible, make them feel special (cynical kicking in) - because this is the business model that makes money . . . but that's ok. When a customer is happy and the business makes money to stay in business, everybody wins. So yes, Disney cast, please keep wishing everyone to have a magical day, and keep working hard to make that wish a reality as much as possible for all the guests.

However, if it is an island named Tom Sawyer, then it is Tom Sawyer Island. It's the name of the island not the name of the owner. I suppose it could be Disney's Tom Sawyer Island.
