Originally Posted By Kennesaw Tom When I think of good service, Disney doesn't immediately come to mind. After just returning from "The World" I can honestly say I believe Disney's biggest problem is that its disorganized. When I was initially making resevations for my trip, I scheduled Magical Express as well as made a special request for the headboard of one of the beds in my resort room to be elevated between 6" to 12" higher than the footboard as one member of my party has acid reflux. I was told my Disney resevations that it wouldn't be a problem. I then called POR and was told that they could accomidate this request with no problems but that resevations for rooms would get to them five days prior to quest arrival and I should call back five days prior to my arrival. So five days prior to my arrival I called POR and repeated the request. I was told "this time" that the beds at POR are bolted to the walls and the only thing POR could do was to elevate the mattress 6" to 12". I told them this was fine. They did infact see my request in the computer under the initial resevations. OK, now its arrival time. We arrive and are told room is ready. We remind the front desk as to the request. No problem they say. We get to the room. Nothing has been done to the bed. The headboards are not attached to the wall. We have one big Orlando phone book and just need one more phone book and we can raise the headboard ourselves. Not a big deal we figure since we are going to hit the EPCOT anyway. So we call the front desk and remind them of the request. We are told they will get this done while we are in the parks. So we go to EPCOT and get back around 11pm. Nothing has been done to the bed. We stuff pillows under the "head" of the mattress and that member of our party is happy. The next day we call quest relations and are told they will get to it. And they did!

OK so its the last morning and we are ready to check out. Nothing under the door. We head to checkout. Checkout was fine. We get in one line to get seat assignments for our flights home. Not a problem. Then we go to leave our baggage and are told that laptops must be left with the front desk. The baggage people also ask us for the information regarding Magical Express, which we don't have. So we head for the front desk, they take the laptops, and tell us, and I quote "Disney's Magical Express bus leaves on the hour, every half hour. I ask if that means it will leave at 5 pm or 5:30pm and I am told it will leave at 5:30pm. OK so on the hour, every half hour really means it leaves every half hour after the hour. Anyway this whole process of going to multiple lines and talking to various people at the front desk took at leave a good 45 minutes that we would have preferred to spend elsewhere enjoying "The World". The whole process seemed so disorganized to me. It didn't seem that anyone knew what the other cast members at quest relations, baggage claim, Conceirge, Disney's Magical Express knew what their counter parts were doing.

I explain I am staying at POR and will be leaving the next day and will be packing the Champagne and flutes in my luggage. I already knew that the Disney Florist is on POR property so shouldn't be a problem. They say that they will have it all ready and will leave it by 3 pm at the front desk as they do not always deliver to the room. That day my party spends the entire time at the parks from 7 AM ( early entry into EPCOT ),till midnight at the MK. We get back at the resort at 1 AM and are told at the front desk that there is nothing waiting for me. Nothing in the room notes on the computer. Since I'm leaving the next day I know I will have to call Ameican Express and put a hold on the order. Disney doesn't ship alcohol. So we get back to the room and find one bottle of champagne and flutes wrapped up in a basket. And the other three bottles and 6 flutes wrapped up on a cardboard tray with a bow and everything. This is all completely different from what I had requested. I was however VERY VERY happy to get the champagne and flutes. Oh course I had to tear everything apart to get it to fit in my carry-on. Fortunately the bag boy put a sticker saying "fragile" on my luggage so no one would put anything on top of it. I just thought the whole thing was pretty disorganized. And had the Disney Florist notified the Front Desk about the delivery it would have spared me from nearly having a stroke. NOTE* If you are my Secret Pal for the Winter Bash 2006, pretend your Dory and you don't remember reading anything about champagne or Mickey flutes!

I can also sympathesis with case members who are having a rough day but the show must go on management constraints. In defense of myself I didn't write about any incidences where I had an altercation with a case member. I simply mentioned situations where there was disorganization. No one works in a vacume. I would think that Disney resort services would be more organized. Particularly around quests requests and checkout.

I swear that matience at POR custom made wodden blocks to elevate the head board of a bed for one of the members of my party.

Of course, this doesn't apply to ALL of the cast...as there are few who still make Disney proud (mostly the college kids from out of FL), but the rest of the cast as stated by LuvDisney is a hit or miss. I have received more commendable service at McDonald's on several ocasions over the last few times I have been to the MK.
