Does that not scream tacky to anyone else but me?? When you look back at the pictures 20 yrs from now, dont you think you will be like "oh my god what was I thinking?" If you are over 12 yrs old you should not want to be a disney princess other than for Halloween!!! >> The website is called styledash and I'd post a link but it would get admin'd because some of the posters there swear in their posts (can you say "Bridezilla"? LOL) Here's the wildest one: Wow! I am amazed by the response to this commercial gimmick by Disney. I have to say I am saddened to read the comments written by the grown women that dreamed of being helpless princesses. These women tried to live out this dream by having a "fairy tale" wedding; my question is how's that "fairytale marriage" going? I despise parents who let their little girls play princess! We teach these little girls, through Disney storie,s that girls are to be rescued by men through marriage. By looking "pretty" a man will like you and all you have to do is wait for prince charming, UGH! I will say that Disney did save themselves from being labeled misogynists when they created "Beauty and the Beast"; Belle is a respectable character. But Disney and all their little "princess" followers need a bit of a reality check. I think Cruelle de Ville posted that one. ;P

Sarah, you look stunning. When I got mArried, almost 20 years ago, my dress was beatuiful too, but yours was stunningly beautiful.

I love how people think that by me thinking in fantasy and fun terms lead to things like being rescued by men via marriage! How silly is that? If they only knew...I have my own bank accounts, car, etc.!

Women are beautiful - in all their various shapes and sizes and ages. That's why I love Dove's campaign for "Real Beauty". Do you guys have those Dove "pro-age" commercials over there?

And just because a woman likes to be whisked away in fantasy doesn't mean she is some helpless ninny. The narrow-minded outright judgmental hostility of that last poster who said she "despised" parents who let their girls dress up like princesses and that Disney teaches girls can be "rescued" by men through marriage really made me roll my eyes!

Most men do like curves!

Me thinks she had some bad relationship experiences early on! I like Pirates, always have (even before the PotC Jack Sparrow craze). I liked dressing up as pirates, learnt to sail and fence as a kid, as well as marksmanship with classic weapons. does it mean I really wanted to be a pirate - raping, pillaging, plundering and no showering? No way, but the fantasy element of it was fun! Don't you just love the way people take themselves way too seriously?
