Oh, we also fell asleep in the Country Bear Jamboree and rode Adventure Through Inner Space many times. The photos on this thread are awesome -- they bring back a lot of memories from a time when E Tickets were contraband.

While there have been other special additions (Mickey's birthday cake... Return to Oz... small world) the basic parade has remained the same. Of course, in 1972, the first year of MSEP, the Electrical Parade was a series of flat boards with lights outlining designs. I was there the second week that parade ran-- but we went home before dark and I never got to see it...

I still have all the brochures, tickets, etc. It cost $7.00 for admission and $1.00 for the souvenir photo! The back of the ticket states, "Date dresses for girls and coats and ties for gentlemen are mandatory. Boys may NOT wear sweaters, and girls may NOT wear miniskirts. Only those properly attired will be admitted." We didn't have any big names performing that night. We had: The Aggregation, The Regents, The Individuals, the Young Men...who were those people?!?! However, they did give away a "1967 Mercury Cougar...the Car of the Year!" That night was the first time I rode Pirates. We were all in awe of that attraction...couldn't figure out if we were inside or under the real stars! Boy...those memories are really lighting the corners of my mind!!!

I doubt I'll ever do better than that.

Film and developing were expensive.) 1973 was, however, the first time we took our oldest daughter (then only 4 months old.) She was facinated by the electrical parade (as were we). We lost all of our family's pictures in a house fire in 1984 so many DL pictures are gone forever. We went every other year while our kids were growing up. These pictures can help to fill in some of the gaps in the family Disney scrapbook Thank you so much!!!!!!!!!! It is hard to remember all of the changes over the years. Of course some of them have been excellent but I do miss the People Mover and Carousel of Progress.

It still brings a smile to my face (ah, memories).
