Ok, that out there - Energy closes because it has a 45min show cycle and closing at 9pm would make it the only attraction with guests in it at 9:45pm most days. They also shut down HISTA (no surprise) and the theater show at the Land. Everything else is open. It's stupid to say Future World closes at 7pm but they continue to do so. And the 9:30 winter close DOES NOT apply only to World Showcase. At that point, they even keep Energy open until 9:30. *angry merf* During the summer Epcot regularly closes at 12pm twice a week. You can't ignore EMH - the park operates and has guests, and not just a few guests. Resort population at WDW is significant. Someone visiting Epcot for just EMH often spends more time in the park then a DL AP does.

If they want to pay the local's price, then they should move to location that's within the local's price. Think about it,ie it's not fair that the cost of living is cheaper in Texas vs So Cal. Why should I pay more for a house in LA when it's a lot cheaper in Dallas?

But I was actually referring more to the service element - poor buses, less than stellar cast members, the lack of 24/7 room service etc.

It's mostly the 'thrill' rides and SSE that remain open later. It's a significant amount of real estate. <<And the 9:30 winter close DOES NOT apply only to World Showcase. Only Christmas week did they change ... and they also opened FW at 8 and WS at 10. <<During the summer Epcot regularly closes at 12pm twice a week. And as many rooms as Disney has in O-Town, they are still hosting more folks from off-property many times. I hate this argument, but since EMH isn't for everyone you can't count it. It isn't the same as when parks regularly stayed open later for ALL guests.

Only MK seem to stay up to 11 pm in the highest season and the others well under that most of the year. But to be fair to WDW, DLR seems to be the misnomer, not the other way around. I been to every other Disney resort on the planet and NONE of them stays open to midnight except for DL basically. All the other resorts, even busy places like TDR shuts down 10 pm basically most of the year. The ONLY times it stays open past that is NYE as all of them. But every Disney theme park, I been to, the average closing hour is between 8-9 pm majority of the year. And I mean ALL of them, not just the resorts as a whole, the individual theme parks all close at roughly those hours all year long, EXCEPT DL and MK basically. HKDL, TDL, DLP easily all 10 pm and under majority of the year. The other gates, roughly 9 pm and under, on average. I guess because of its size and being one of the biggest and most popular vacation resorts on the planet, it is odd that the parks arent open up to midnight every night, especially in the high seasons like summer and Christmas, but for AK to close basically at sun set is unacceptable. It doesnt have to be closed at midnight, but c'mon!! Even DCA, which gets LESS visitors and mainly locals anyway manages to close a lot later than that park. Sadly, a lot of it because it has now beome a holdover to the DL crowds, but at least it has reasonable hours and I'm guessing will expand more when WOC premieres and as the park change. But WDW can do muuuuch better of extending hours....what this have to do with DL APs being more expensive not sure lol, but since this is what we are talking about, then yeah I think in high seasons, EVERY park shouldnt be closed any later than 10 pm and MK and Epcot up to midnight basically.
