    I hate to be a kill-joy... but I think most jobs have points where you must do work things and not get paid for it. As an elementary teacher, I couldn't count how many hours I spend at work.. not getting paid! I would love if the only time I didnt get paid was while I got dressed! (my opinion, i know!)

    I've also seen cast members outside the park, and it definitely ruins the illusion! It makes disneyland seem like a regular place of business...

    I dont want my disneyland to be like a trip to the grocery store! I want my magical - Happiest place on Earth!

I've worked many-a-retail store with distinguishable apparel, and thats what we always did (or changed in the bathroom at the end of the shift). Seems like I ALWAYS had a change of clothes in the back seat, just in case something fun came up.

    As cool as a ToonTown costume might look when it's worn inside Disneyland, it doesn't get much nerdy-er when that same cast member is sitting in Mimi's Cafe across the street, eating a bran muffin and kvetching about a guest who didn't ask the right question.

    just to add to what 777 and monorailblue wrote, all they said and now add 911 to the confusion...the tightening of security dictated that I could no longer use KLot and be shuttled in, but Had to park at Ball making walking through the parking structure the only way to get in the Park...I took my costumes home and got a long wind-breaker type trench coat wear over my costume and left the coat in the lockers we had for day use inside Rancho...Show is very important and it's sad DL has made it all so complex...

    Adding to my own post #56, the final tidbit didn't clarify that I was talking about the merchandise Hostess costume. Other FL Hostess costumes weren't so complex--like Attractions--blouse, coulottes, socks. But the merchandise one was amazingly complex and detailed. :)
