It's going to be DARK and COLD the entire time I'm doing the half. Ear muffs and mittens..ick. I was hoping for a Spring race, not a Winter race, and also for a full marathon option.

I'm also not crazy about the 5k being at night and including a Twilight ticket. Typcially, my husband will do the 5K and I'll do the half. A) He's to tired at 10:30 p.m. to watch TV, nevermind run and B) we don't want a Twilight ticket. Why make us pay for that in the price of the run??? Make it an optional adder, like they do with pins/MM ears.

At least the price isn't higher than the September half. Still the most expensive race I run, but at least it is cheaper than the WDW Princess half. I haven't decided if I will sign up yet. Guess I'll need to keep track of how quickly it is filling up.

What about the men? How do you feel about this being a women-themed race? Feeling left out? Don't care?

I've gotten used to running in the cold - I actually prefer it now. It's just the waiting part I don't like :( A spring race would have been nice, but it's spring break for most of March and April. They need people in January during the dead time.

What's weird to me about the Twilight and being at 10:30pm, is that it excludes a lot of the kids who normally run those 5ks - seems a bit late.

If I were a man, I'd be a little annoyed, especially with only one other race in DL. They could have made it Tinkerbell/Peter Pan, or a race saturday and sunday. A half and a full?? Maybe next new race :/

Any suggestions if it does rain? Have no clue what I would wear.

Too bad it isn't Tink/PeterPan theme....DH would have wanted to run it too.
I'm really wondering about the course since it sounds like it will be different than what we are used to with the DL 1/2. DH and son will want to cheer me along the route.

Not a huge fan of the theme nor the time so definitely count me out and I agree that late of a 5K is odd- I could see the timing in a late spring/early summer event where heat would be a factor but not necessarily in January!

Just be sure you have a plastic covering before the race, and nothing that will get too heavy. I wore a tank top and shorts, and i was fine. The biggest issue I had was my hands were so cold they hurt, followed by the inability to feel them. I would wear gloves, if I was in that situation again.

The course looks sort of strange to me, too. At least it's not the same course as the sept race! :)

About the new course....I get so tired of running by the tile and marble companies and the stretch on the way to Angels stadium, so I'm excited about something new. I'm definitely going to check out the course in two weeks when we are at DL again.

Thanks about the suggestion of a plastic covering. I'll do that and bring gloves anyway. It will really be a different type of race for me due to the time of year.

It's nice that it's right after the big WDW marathon weekend, so I might do the race so I can get the coast-to-coast without having to train for another event in September. Still, I'm not sure why they chose Tinkerbell.

I know there are only so many different race lengths they can choose from, but it's also weird that they're doing the same length races as the September race weekend. It looks like the course for the half marathon is different (spending more time north of the resort, instead of heading all the way to the stadium), but that will be tough to advertise as a different experience. It does seem like there is plenty of demand for another race at DLR, but this just doesn't seem like the right choice to me.

There's gotta be more ideas floating around. I know Anaheim is limited, especially being near so much residential and industrial, but someone must have better ideas. I generally run half or full marathons, but they could have done a 10k to mix it up-there is more flexibility with time of day and the surrounding area. I am not sure if a marathon will ever make it, only because it will disrupt so much of the surrounding area, but maybe this is a test for this time of year.

Going through the stadium is one of my favorite parts with all the girl and boy scouts and 4 HR's cheering us on.

It is early enough, hopefully they can clean up after the marathoners and still be ready in time for the game. Guess we'll see for certain in September.

@belle-did they have access to toilets in the stadium before. i don't remember being able to use or be near any? I know the bathrooms in the parks were open, but didn't remember anywhere else with running water ;)

@vicki-going through the stadium is cool! I even got my name announced on the PA 2 of 5 years I have run it!
